Default Honda City 2010 Carburetor and Enging Tuning Up. Plz Guide, Thanks in Advance.

    Hello Pakwheelers,

Hope you all are fine and doing well. Today One of the mechanic told me that cleaning the carburetor of Honda city 2010 (and uppder model as well, of course) with a Carburetor Cleaning Liquid makes the engine mileage longer and doing this does not require further tuning of the engine. Is he correct? Should I not do the enging tuning after that?

Also, should gear oil be changed after 40,000 KM?

What other recommendations you guys suggest to make the engine last long and powerful?

I am driving my car 100% on Petron. NO CNG.
    Kindly guide me.

    Thanks in Advance.

well I assume that he meant throttle body and not carburetor.
2ndly there is no need to clean TB if u r not feeling a slow response or increase in fuel consumption. If u must have ur TB cleaned then do it from Honda workshop as TB is a sensitive component.
However, u can spray carburetor cleaner in the throttle by dismantling the air filter box. Spray directly into the throttle with high engine RPMs and do not let the engine die.

If its auto then yes, must change the ATF at 40000, if manual, u can top up the gear oil and better if replace.

Use fully synthetic oil not thicker than 5w30 . It is believed to be good for 10k mileage but I replace it at 8k

if car isn't giving any problems then don't mess with it.

it doesn't require throttle body cleaning.

refer to owners manual for gear oil change interval

Mechanic app ko lotna chahta hai aur kuch nhi. There is no such thing as a carburater in an efi car and efi cars do not require tuning

Dont mess with the TB cleaning unless and until your car is running heavy or lagging. Also, if you really want to get it done, get it done at one of the decent 3S or Pitstops. Avoid the typical mechanics for this please if you wanna save a lot of headache later one.
