    Default Suggestions for new City

I am planning to buy a new honda City soon.

Have to decide between manual and automatic transmission. There are varied reviews about automatic city, some say its underpowered and has a much higher fuel consumption as compared to a manual transmission.

I myself are inclined towards automatic due to the driving comfort factor but dont want to get stuck with a car I am not happy with. Currently I have a santro plus (manual) and have never kept an automatic.

    All suggestions are welcome

I was in the same dilemma about buying manual o automatic (corolla) but driving manual in rushy areas is hectic! although many people says that auto transmission consumes more fuel but i was inclined towards auto and bought it and happy! at least i m in peace when driving! no gear shifting hassle! and i don't think there is a huge difference in fuel efficiency between auto n manual!!!

I am sorry for not able to give u proper information about city transmission (auto/manual) but do what your heart says! my khalu owns a aspire prosmatic since 2013 and till now I didnt see him having any issues! but he always service his car from showroom not road side shops!

If you drive car mostly inside city boundaries and your average daily driving is more than 15-20 km than automatic should be your choice.

If u mostly drive on motorways then go for manual
If ur track is local and inside city go for auto.
Difference of one or two kilometre /litre b/w auto and manual is negligible, but auto is peace of mind.

(Based on my personal experience having city '12 manual and Nissan '09 auto. )
    Rest decision is urs.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

My driving is mostly local within the city, so i guess auto will suit me more.

What if I have to go to Murree, bhurban, nathia gali etc once a year. Will the 1300 cc Auto transmission be good enough to handle it without issue?

Today I went to a Honda showroom to inquire about the process of buying a new City and I must say I was disappointed beyond my imagination

The staff there was completely sulky and non professional and didnt look much interested in providing any information, the sales people at the desks were sitting as if in a sarkari daftar and they were directing us (went with a friend) to go to other desks instead of entertaining any queries.
Its as if they didnt know even the ABCs of customer service. When I finally found a sales rep to discuss the sale, I came to know the real reason for this behavior, they dont need petty things like customer service or customer satisfaction they have everything covered by Monopoly of the market (If I decide I dont want to buy a Honda City then there is absolutely no other option in this price range). The sales rep. told me that delivery time for an automatic city is 2 months ! (probably more), when I asked why so much, they told me unconcerndly that bas company aisay hi time deti hay humain. What they truly meant was ke lena hay tu lo warna jao !

In no other field of business this is imaginable that the full price of the commodity is taken before even the manufacturing starts. Its just like that you go to the market to buy bread and the shopkeeper takes the "payment" from you and "books" the bread, he then goes to the market, buys seed from that money, plants it, grows and harvests it, grinds it into flour and then bakes it and then "delivers" it to you on the specified "delivery date" , but surprisingly enough, this is exactly whats happening in the Auto Industry in our country. Its a completely unnatural an unsustainable business model but sadly its possible in our country because of corruption and monopoly, ofcourse at the expense of consumers like us who have the audacity of dreaming about buying a brand new car from our hard earned saved money.

Anyhow, long story short, since I might have some official travel plans after two months so I was not able to get a new Car as I dont want it delivered when im not here and have dropped the idea of a new car for now, with a heavy heart I might add

Truly a sad state of affairs in the Automotive industry in our country. Allah hi reham keray hamay Mulk pe.
