Default Needs some statistics regarding City Vario & CNG

I need to know if some of you knows anyone who has CNG installed in City Vario (Automatic) and car is working fine for last 8-10 months.
A Friend of mine was told that in Vario Gear box related issues will arise as early as 10K if the car would be on CNG.
I need to confirm of any practicle experiences if any one has.
(We can talk about the technical things latter and in detail as they can wonder to great extends but I am right now much interested in statistics.)
Please let me know about the experience you have or you have heard about them.
Thanks a lot in advance for your inputs.
If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

Bro, I don't think there's any way for CNG to cause transmission problems, such problems are caused by careless shift abuse, AFAIK.
Continuesly Variable Transmission aka Vario has got drive belts instead of conventional torque converter, so the risk has even been reduced. Besides, it offers you virtually unlimited gear ratios & 6 virtual speeds, instead of conventional 4 speed auto tranny.

The problem of Vario on CNG is: powerloss. CiTY is already a 1.2L - 78hp ; underpower car, & then you put an auto tranny, A/C & CNG on it... and the result: the car would literally DIE.

@uiv, totally agree with u! The Vario barely moves with A/C on,, let alone sticking in CNG. If you want CNG, go for the manual, but certainly not the Matic.
A revolution against the jahil of this nation!

At some 1100kg, Vario is already more heavy than manual tranny, and again, what would happen if you put 5 people in car with some luggage in it's big boot. That would be some... 400kg? atleast. (including the CNG tank)... the total mass comes to some 1500kg! And you have only 65-/+ hp to displace that much load... displace it with CVT!

But if you still want CNG, please do install Lambda Control, that would increase your acceleration.

Thanks a lot to you Bro's
I only wanted to get some statistics. I fully agree with all of you on the technical/mechanical issues .
Speed and powerloss is not the problem right now. We can live with it for the time being.
Also I fully agree with @uiv. but at times there can be a difference in theory and practical. Maybe there can be a point that we are missing that why I have stress earlier also that right now I am only interested in Statistical count instead of technical discussion.
Please tell me about the practial experience if you have seen or heard.
Thanks again to all of you.

I was at honda drive inn karachi last thursday, and during my wait there a honda city VARIO owner walked in with some sort of issues regarding his tranmission. His car had been on CNG, and was having some serious shifting issues. The dealer suggested changing the transmission oil and furthermore told the owner that he should remove CNG and sell off the car and buy a M/T city which according to him could be run on CNG. I hope i could have been of help. regards.

Well a friend of mine had CNG in his vario. He sold his car as he left for USA for studies/job. Till then he had driven 6000 km on CNG with no problems at all.

BUT on contrary, when I went to honda drive-in to consult them about installing CNG kit they said that you will end up damaging your auto-transmission which costs over 1.5lac.

So here you go... Both +ve experience and -ve warning.

I am still on petrol and loving it. 12km/lt in KHI (avg. speed in KHI is 20km) with AC always ON.
    Cheers.

    Salam

I have discussed this issue with Honda. They say CNG works fine with manual 1.3 city and with 1.5 steermatic, provided you get it installed from some reputable workshop. For vario the car will be under powered so they don't recommned CNG in Vario.
