Recite the following when you lock the doors.

    bismillaHirRahmaanNirRaheem
    Ya-Raqeebo (3 times)

not even Jinns can open the locks. ;-)

Maybe not jinns, but thieves most certainly would open it. And last time I checked, jinns have stopped abducting people, cows, and cars since the dawn of science-age. Thieves, however, are still on the roll, so we need a thief proof plan.

    No brother.
If you believe in these things then these things are most powerful than materialistic things.
Anyways this is a wazeefa and optional.

Powerful materialistic things need powerful materialistic keeping. Believes and hopes come afterwards. Didn't our Prophet PBUH told a man to put his camel on the leash, THEN trust Allah.

Use of THEN vs THAN is critical here.

    Agreed.
    ----------------
if built-in honda car lock <==> camel on the leash
then an additional car steering lock ==> building a fort over the camel ?

every issue has some visible treatments and some spiritual treatments. It depends on the level of eemaan and tawaqqul on Allah eventually.

I use a steering lock which is attached with the clutch. I know that it may not stop a determined thief but at least it will create a small problem for him. And a steering lock will also discourage many casual thieves. Anything is recommended as any obstacle will slow down a thief and increase his chances of being caught while trying to steal a car. Go for a steering lock and also recite Dua.
    :-)
