Default Ground clearance of Honda city

Hi everyone, I got a new city aspire last month. Within a span of 4 weeks, bottom of the car has scratched with speed breakers and high ramps almost around dozen times. It's very annoying. I drove a cultus earlier and never faced the issue. Car is city aspire 2015. Any suggestions or driving precautions please. Regards.

I own a 2013 city had the same annoying problem. After much deliberation I have done following. One gone for Yokohama Cdrive 195/65/15 instead of 185/65/15 advan db. Secondly I put in an aluminium 1" spacer on rear wheels.
Results are amazing. No scraping the undercarriage even fully loaded. No heavy thumping sounds on crossing cateyes and small stones. Increased grip on motorway and slightly increased Road feel ( road noise). Also using 30 psi all tyres.

Not sure where are you located but its the first time I have heard the clearance issue of Honda city. I've used 3 different models since 2005 and drove it more than 300k kms yet never faced any big issue myself. I've also used Vitz (2007) for 2 years (2013 - 2015) which is notorious for road clearance and even then never felt any necessity to increase Vitz or City's height thru spacers etc. I think you drive the car either roughly or the areas you drive in have much higher humps than necessary.

Speed breakers (Car breakers) are quite nasty in Lahore which are specially designed by sheeda mistri to break cars not slow them down. Best way is to try crossing these bumps inclining/angling.
Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

Raising it from back would make front wheels go in negative camber making cvj work all the time

    Dear,
i have driven 35k with 195/65/15 on my Honda City 2013... Nothing happened to anything uptil yet...
Infact, in my company we have 10 honda city (5- 3rd Gen, 5-4th Gen), All are being driven on 195/65/15 on motorways, local highways, Field work ... 3rd Gen have even crossed 200k mileage... Nothing has happened yet... even mileage is in 14 km/L ....
So whats the time for CVJ/Axle to show its miracle due to misfit of tyres??...

    Regards,

    Regards,
I said that bigger tyre will effect mileage and spacer will cause cvj failure please don't mix both

That chamber is due to suspension travel try to fix it by alignment can cause bigger issues

    please,
1" spacers will not ruin the c.v joints

its not a hot rod with 20 inch wheels at back and 12inch in the front to make it way out of proportion or look like a cat on its paws
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    Now using following tyre pressure
    Front 32
Rear. 30 psi ( as per honda recommendations)

    Still all OK.
No underscrapping, no extra drifting and CVJ still going fine..
But still waiting for scientific evidence against raised rear wheels by less than one inch and using 195/65 /15 tyres

    1. Approach the speed breaker by leaving some space on the left side.

    2. when u reach on top of the speed breaker i.e. your front tyres are on the top of the speed breaker, turn the car right or left (wherever its easy, usually its easy to turn left and preferred for safety reason as driving is R-H and left side of the road in Pak)

    3. when the rear tyres reach the top of the speed breaker, bring the car back in straight position and continue the drive.

99% of times, car wont hit from bottom. 1% is human error and inevitable.

Changing tyres certainly helps. go for 195 if your pocket allows. It shouldnt affect mileage to a great degree.

Try not to alter height or suspension unless its extremely necessary.
