    Default Honda city engine swapped.

I was driving a 2004 Honda city idsi M/T with 335000 on ODO. Which worked like a charm from the date we purchased it in 2004. But yes from the last 2mo tha car used to reduce engine oil and its power was somehow reduced. But never ever got heated.

So finally i decided to swap its engine to a kabuli engine.

On day 1 we started to get the old engine off.

    Sorry for the messy pictures.

The engine bay was very very dirty.

    Day 2.
We were up to purchase the new engine.
This car was having L12A2 (1246cc) engine in it. But it was not available in the market.
    The available engine was
    L13A idsi (1339cc)
    And
    L15A idsi (1496cc) non vtec.

So we decided to purchase L15A as it was also bolt on.

The things i got with the engine are
    8 coils
    Pulleys
    Waterbody
    Injectors
    Intake manifold
    Exhaust manifold
    Crank sensor
    Map sensor.
    Cam sensor
    Throttle body
    Air flow sensor
    Belt
    All connecting pipes
    A/C compressor.
    Plugs

And the engine arrived. It was in very very good condition. Got 2weeks written warranty for everything.

Finally my mechanic started to do his job. We washed the engine bay. And till night engine was installed but was not yet started.

    Day 3
At first all the wiring and pipes were connected back to the engine.

Old engine oil was drained. We got new oil poured in it. Oil filter was changed. Nothing else was adjusted.

And we were upto start it up.
At first it didnt startup. Then the mechanic opened its injectors where we found that 3 of the injectors were blocked.
Luckily i kept the old injectors from my old engine with me. As they are totally the same. So we changed the entire injectors assembly with the old one.

And engine started like a charm.

We left it started for almost 30mins and it was all good to go.

Now i have almost driven it for 250kms without any problems. No smoke nothing.

It will be opened for plugs and throttle body cleanup in a day or two.

I thought i should share my experience with all of you.
    Sorry for the messy pictures.

If you have any questions you can ask me.

    Thanks.
    Have a nice day

You are using wrong injectors use L15 injectors, they're fitting is same but you should not use L12 injectors in L15. If injectors were not good you should have asked the guy to replace injectors. And did you get its ecu with it? i hope you're not using it with L12 ecu.

My friend recently swapped his 05 civic vti with D16 vtec the original engine d16w9 had excess of 445000 kms on odometer and it required head job he swapped with D16 vtec along with its tranny and ecu. Mismatch of tranny and ecu will result for engine not to perform at optimum results.

    @ahmedraja1996
Brother its L15A non vtec (idsi)
The injectors are totally of the same size and opening. Plus the ecu is totally compatibale with it. If it was vtec it should have been replaced. But its same as L12A idsi. Secondly the ecu available in the market is of auto tranny.

The great part is im already feeling the power of L15A and even the average is 14km/lit in city.
