Yes it does not have temperature gauge, just a light which shows blue when cold and red when it has already heated..
but since its a new car you dont have to face any such problem for 5 years and after that depends on how you maintain it

honda city does not have temp needle

    since 2002 onwards model

    usually till 200, 000 km's
you just have to check coolant level

unless own mistake like leaving radiator cap off and driving away like that or mechanic fiddling with wires and accidentally disconnecting fan etc
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Driving my city 13 for 3 yrs, no problem with temp, doesnot heat up even with full AC and in june. Doesnot even reduce coolant.
If still interested, one can go for after market temp gauges like delphi...

honda know their demographic, they know their customers dont give a damn about engine temperature, all they care is

1 - what is the speed (police)
2 - what is their fuel level (running out of it)

And their most beloved - does it play music? - Yes

deal done - customer buys it.

If you are looking for installing a gauge, its very easy to do but it will be aftermarket like a pod or a digital readout.

coolant /water should be added (if less) directly by removing radiator cap right? because water bottle is not easily accessible

There is no need to worry about this
I m driving since 2014 and no such issues
Just get your car check up as per schedule. These are high Tech cars unlike Mehran where u need to have bottle of water in the car.

Don't know about city but my car indicates overheating by blinking a red light furiously. Once my cousin forgot to put the radiator cap before leaving for naran and midway it started blinking and beeping. So, maybe city does that too.

The red light will pop up when the car starts overheating not when it reaches to a level where engine is damaged. I never faced a overheat warning in my car which also have light instead of gauges
