Default Honda City Aspire 1.3 Mileage Problem

My car is giving me no more than 7.3 Km/L, what can be the problem ?? Or its normal ?? At least it should give me 10 - 11 km/L as i always try to keep RPM's under 2 to 2.5 .. i dont believe in the readings given on screen so i calculated it manually .. i always refill when the car shows reserved yellow light.. it always refill with 30 litres and it gives me range of around 220km untill the yellow light again shows up..

Tyre size (195/65R15) as the stock tire size has worst eoad grip

    Alloy Rims: Stock aspire rims

Tyre pressure (32Psi in front .. 30Psi in rear ) as per written on car door

Engine oil: castrol 5w30 fully synthetic (recently changed)

Oil filter: original honda (recently changed)

Air filter: Original honda (recently changed)

AC cabin filter: Original Honda (recently changed)

Coolant: honda type 2 (Recently Changed)

I always drive with Ac ON on 2..3 fan speed.

    Help!!!

that mileage is really really bad, if you follow the bars inside meter cluster and rev the accelorator less and reach 60km/h instantly and then cruise on that speed with light foot you can achieve 20 km/l.

my family has 1.5 aspire prosmatec and on long we have achieved 25km/l and in local it varies between 12-15 km/l

plus the tire size you are using are horrendous and you will ruin the suspension before you reach 100k on odo.

i am using Continental EcoCont 185 tires and getting the above milage and the road grip and comfort is superb.

change your tires plus when you go for tunning to honda centre get the cat conv cleaned.

Try to use Shell, it is only marked unleaded. Secondly do you use AC while idling, waiting on signals or in parking while family is shopping. Idling is the biggest mileage killer.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

What is the model of your car? Where and when did you get its last service done. Usually on 40K KM you need to get its brakes, Throttle body and Cat converter cleaned. I would suggest go to your nearest Honda and get those things done asap. Change the tyres to 185/65/R15 (Yokohama Advan db/Michelin XM2) Don't use the AC too much, You will feel that you're driving a different car once you spin it around without the AC.
7 - 8 kmpl average is horrendous, esp for a car only driven 33K. What does the meter show?

I always try to keep the bars in middle of 0---'---20 mark .. sometimes the bars reach 40 like when coming down from a bridge.. i live in karachi so its very difficult to cruise in 60km/h constantly because of traffic conditions. Secondly i dont think so that tire size will effect my mileage because i've also tried the stock size for 3..4 tanks and still getting the same average.. and what will be the cost of cleaning cat converter from honda ??

Even one minute idling on AC drops on km from average sometimes. I have observed that in hot weather when there is no option but to use AC on traffic lights which are closed over a minute. Also in same summers when weather is sometimes good and you do not switch on AC average remains good.

My Altis 1.6 AT gives 13+ in winters in city and now as I do more idling with AC due to unusually hot weather the average has dropped to 11.4 kmpl.

I bought this car from pakwheels at 25000Km .. and imediately i got it checked from honda .. they did Ac service ..gas charged.. changed engine oil .... transmission oil .. brake service .. brake pads changed .. and told me that other things are fine and dont need service or replacement .. .. i bought this car 6 months ago ..that was winters so i was using it without ac.. at that time it was giving me an average of around 9 km/L ..but now a days with ac on..its getting worst

Honda will charge you around 20K-25K for the complete job.I would recommend you get it done from Honda only.

AC in idle affects mileage but itni bhi nahi k it drops to 4-5, My city 80K driven given me 14-15 kmpl with AC. Yours should be around 12-14 kmpl.

Winters mey only 9 Kmpl?? There has to be something wrong with your car. Why did they change the transmission oil and brake pads at 25K? Is it a manual car? The brakes last at least 40K minimum.

No Honda city under 50K driven gives less than 10-12 kmpl. Go to honda again, tell them to check and recheck everything. You may need to spend some money. What is the model?

I will surely considre this and try to eliminate this bad habit while idling .. and see what happens the next time i fill up my tank .. but even without ac i was getting 9km/L in winters ..
