Brother.. everyone has his own choice and preferences.. in your case if your mind says or you ask toyota fans then definitly you will get such reviews.. I personally used both corolla and city used.. and last year I preffered to go for brand new City with previous experience.. you can never be satisfied untill you use it

As mentioned above its personal preference. Best if you can test drive the cars before.

Yes city does have a stiffer suspension, so driving on broken or rough roads can be felt more. Euro tyres only make it worse. However handling feels better.

Corolla has a very comfortable ride as it soaks up all the bumps etc. However to me it feels like I am on a boat. I prefer a stiffer suspension over a softer one, my preference.

Exactly.. that is my experience too..the more softer suspension the less grip and control especially in hilly and curvy roads..

I donot feel that stiffer suspension. As owning a city for the last one year. I do however feel more in control of car with more feel at the steering, which i guess some may call stiff susp. I use yokohama Cdrive 195/65/15 with 30 psi. Happy with city, 28000 km and going.

While a lot of people love to emphasise on the importance of resale, my question is how soon do you plan to sell it? Most salaried people don't change cars for 4-5 years after buying them brand new. I bought my city last year and have loved it. A few weeks back I drove a friend's Corolla 1.3 automatic. Corolla has a very soft suspension but city is way ahead in terms of handling convenience and ease, drive pleasure and road grip. As for parts yes parts are expensive but then again look at the price you are paying as well. The cost of ownership of a City (purchase+registration +insurance) is a lot lower than that of a Corolla. When I was getting my city last year the difference was about PKR 150.

i,ve been driving city 16 from more than 6 months now , never touched ground or breaker with 5 pple on board , been till naran
rest except consumable parts , you wont be needing to change any in 5 years.
resale wise corolla is gud but GLI cost 2+ lacs more in purchasing as well as alot more waiting period on booking
Enjoying and loving my new City 16 to bits

City is good car . And yes you are right it hits godamn every bump in city. I have upgraded to nitto 185/65 to cope with hard suspension. Apart from that all is good . I am now thinking to add spacers to increase ride height.

City's suspension is so bad. U feel every bump on the road. Its good car for its consumption but suspension and ground clearance is terrible.

City is no doubt very good car, with good fuel economy and over all better build than corolla.
Suspension is bit hard as compared to corolla but more stable.
I am using it for last 4 years, no problem at all, so cannot comment on price of parts.
Car is more compact than corolla and ground clearance of corolla maybe better than city but corolla has bigger tyres as well.

just bought a city only because i am 6'3 and cannot sit straight up on the back seat of GLI and delivery date was horrendous (oct delivery if booked in april and 300K own for immediate delivery). In a city i can sit comfortably on the back seat with front seat pushed all the way back. Suspension is hard but tire change fixes most of that issue. and i got the car in 2 weeks
