    Default petrol average of CITY DSI 2006

    Hi, I want to know about the petrol average of Cityas my car is consuming too much petrol. Also suggest if it is suitable to install CNG in CIty because most cars performance becomes very weak on CNG.

    Well, I guess, I may be extremely luck as my 1.5L Steermatic is doing over 13KM (with A/C). In fact it went upto 17KM when I drove from Lhr to Isb (100-110Km/hr).

    My Vario averages around the 13-15Km mark, provided that the RPM stays under 2500!

    One thing to keep in mind that a smaller engine does not necessarily gives you better mileage. A smaller engine, just to keep up with the traffic, needs to be driven harder than a bigger engine. Thats why it could consume just about as much fuel as a bigger engine---the smaller engine is always working harder and is at a higher RPM at all the time. The fact that the 1.5 City gives the same economy as the 1.2 City is a clear example of this (The VTec in the 1.5 helps somewhat too).

    I remember that I had my 1.2L (1193cc) 1989 Civic, which used to give me 10km/L in city with AC. This was compared to my brother's 1985 1.6L Accord, which also gave him 10! Both cars was carb.

    @rjs:
    Becz you are in Islamabad. In Karachi average speed is 20km/hr and so economy is horrible as compared to your place.

    let the car his 5K KM before taking any drastic steps such as CNG'ing it. The average improves automatically after that
