Exclamation Please Help on this - City 2006

Dear Members, I have Honda city 2006 and she is burning engine oil constantly after running almost 1200 KM's.
and secondly she is giving an average of 8-9 intercity.

Now i have 2 options, Engine overhauling or replacing the engine. Both will cost same.

    Please advise

Dear go for engine overhauling and visit an experienced mechanic. And in case of engine replacement chances of finding a good engine are slim and engine number will be a issue in case of resale.

The engine crank probably needs to be replaced.
In other case, change the whole engine assembly, costs around 22-24k. There are good assembly available in the market. Engine no can be easily changed in the papers. If you are concerned about the resale, then overhaul, that would also cost you around 20k too.

Thankyou so much guys means a lot to me.
I will consider overhauling the engine as a best possible option.
Overhauling will cost around 18-20 K

engine oil burning could be due to weak piston rings, worn out pistons and valves... I have city 2001 and faced the same issue. You can get new set of pistons and piston rings along with valves that have play and get the cylinder walls faced by some leth machine wala... this should cost you max. 25k

    Thank you for your reply,
I have owned 2 citys over the past 7 years, with the L13A and the L15A, one of the main factors that destroys these city engines is over heating because of having no gauge for the temperature and eventually resulting in an engine that becomes noisy. The crankshaft is the first engine component that needs to be replaced.
If you can squeeze 150k kms from an auto, I would say that she served you well,
Here is an advise to all city (auto) owners or any potential buyer, listen to the sound of the engine or pay some mechanic to do it for you, and if you can, install temperature gauge.
