Default Honda City 1.3 VTI Auto 2016 mileage

I have recently bought a new City Automatic Model 2016 assuming it will give better mileage than my previous Suzuki Swift. After driving 1000 plus km and noting down consecutive 4 tank full to tank full readings, I am in a state of utter disbelief and shock. I am getting a consistent mileage between 6.9km /l to 7.2 km /l with full time AC in city driving mostly along Canal, Johar town and Faisal Town. Similar usage gave 9.5 km /l from my Suzuki Swift 1300 cc M/T (2012 model). I also have Mitsubishi Lancer M/T 2006 model giving 8.5 km /l with similar usage pattern. Before I raise HELL with the company and demand engine replacement under warranty, I need to be sure that this is exceptionally low and other owners are getting noticeably better mileage. I am at my wit's end and even contemplating selling the car. Seems like I am driving a Land Cruiser.

I need a professional advice backed by verifiable data. Please no generalized figures. And I do realize that there is about 10% difference between Auto and Manual Transmission.

    Desperately waiting for reply.

Driving on canal/Johar town and getting 6-7 mileage is not at al possible. What does your meter show ? And how do you calculate the average yourself ?

I calculate from noting the reading at tankful and then again at subsequent tankful. As explained in post. Forget the meter. That shows 8~9.5 but that is not more accurate than my pocket. LOL

How could I possibly foresee such a problem. There are after all only three options in 1300 cc AUTO. Suzuki, City and Corolla. It seems more like a transmission optimization issue otherwise how can Suzuki Swift (Normal Engine) beat City (Prosmatic Engine)

Sounds strange. Waiting for 6 months to get better mileage. Engine running is a very old / obsolete concept.

I am desperately looking forward to any owner of 2016 CITY MODEL VTI 1300 who can confidently claim city mileage (greater than 8.5) in mixed traffic. I would sit with him with a tankful, let him drive 50~100 km in city, offer him lunch enroute, fill his tank at my cost and calculate. If true I can barge into CITY DEALER WORKSHOP. The problem is there is no official claim by HONDA Pakistan on its website unlike other countries which give highway / city mileage which can be 10% off (max) in real life conditions. HOW CAN I SUE THE COMPANY? That's what I want.

it is famous for poor average. u didnt do ur homework well. and i would be blunt, its average will not get better after X number of kilometers. gone are those days when engines had to be "broken" first. so i wud say, try hypermiling a little, else there is no other choice but to bear this average

Get a mix of hioctane. You're fuel quality is very poor at lahore.

I get at least 12 kmpl in city Rawalpindi.

    Meter shows 14 kmpl.

I seriously doubt you can get 12 km travelling anywhere in Pindi under any condition. I would like to get in your car and let you drive in the city at my cost for confirmation. Send your contact detail. The minimum requirement of determining average is auto tankfull to auto tank full (after almost empty tank) in mixed traffic without idling except in traffic signals with full time AC. You are referring to City 1300 CC Auto 2016 model by the way?

Yes 2016 1300cc. I'll check it again and get back to you.
However, I have checked it many times at long route @GT road tankfull to tankfull. I has always given min 15kmpl.

Twice at least I have checked in local drive and it was 12.t kmpl.

I'll check it again now and get back to you.
