    Salam everyone... I m really Glad to see steermatic fan club... I recently purchased a steermatic.. Everything is fine alhamdulilah I m enjoying it.. Recently I changed transmission oil.. But car started vibration in D and R... Someone told me you've pour wrong oil in the transmission.. I use Honda CVTF.. Which is recommended... But my mechanic is saying that you should pour ATF because there is ATF written on the dip stick.. Now I m confused car is vibrating ... And why ATF is written on the dip stick.. Can I put ATF now? Please advise me.. Thanks.. 😊

    Congratulations on your purchase.
    First, there are 2 types of transmission oils for automatics.
    ATF and CVTF.
    ATF is automatic transmission fluid. It's used in automatic cars like Honda prosmatics and Corolla automatic. It comes in ATF I, II and so on.
    CVTF is continuously variable transmission fluid (CVT transmission). Honda steermatic comes with a CVT transmission. And all the these Japanese like vitz, passo, axio, prius.
    The fluid you have used is the correct transmission fluid. It requires 3.7 litre of CVTF, do take the odo meter data for future milage calculation and change.

    IZFR6K11 are available at every dealership but cost Rs 1735 per plug. But you can contact Iridium/Platinum plugs thread and ask Babar Khan. I got it from him for 1100 per plug with Philips xtreme vision bulbs. You need 3.7 litre of CVTF oil in the tranny.

    What I suggest through my experience with CVT transmission is that there is wear and tear in the transmission. And that debris goes to the valve body and blocks it. You can see it in the pictures that it's like a maze. This blockage will effect your car resulting in vibration in Reverse and D mode. It is located near to the coolant bottle. If 1 out of the 3 solenoid is burnt, then you have to change it, costs 4k kabli one and 25k new one. But it can also be opened up and cleaned.
    But I do need to ask, has the previous owner given you any service history or what grade oil he's been using?

    Don't worry about what your dip stick says, may be the previous owner changed it. ill post a picture of my car's dip stick.

    Kashif bhai my car was fine before changing the transmission oil but now I m really confused and the vibration irritates me daily.. I visited 2 mechanics one is asking to put ATF and the other one is asking to open the transmission.. My steermatic is 1 lack driven and transmission is not yet touched by anyone... Kashif bhai can I have your number I really want to discuss this matter.. :-(

    Relax man, it's not the end of the world, this issue can be fixed. Must be some sensor issue. I'll pm you my number. You didn't tell me about your car's service history and you have scanned your car?

    did you recently change cvt oil ? this type of issue can arise if atf with high friction modifier

    I m third owner and I have complete service history. But previous owner never change transmission oil... First owner changed the oil at 50k.. And then never change the oil.. Now my car is 1lack driven... and the car was fine.. But I've changed the oil because the oil was due... I scanned all the sensor are perfectly fine... After a very long time and wait a found a clean steermatic which is free from CNG.. And now this seriously irritates me..

    Have changed it recently even though honda guys said its perfect n no need to be replaced. They adjusted the iac sensor n all that fixed for a time and start jerking again after a day. Sometimes she goes well and sometimes she jerks when i shift p to R or D.

    I am sorry for the fact that it's hard to exactly pin point the part that is causing these jerks. Today i talked to the chief mechanic at Honda regarding your issue and he said that there are a couple of things that needs to be checked.
    1. Plugs and the coils. If only 1 coil has gone bad, the car will jerk. Plugs needs to be checked.
    2. MAP/MAF sensors cleaning.
    3. Valve body. (had a personal experience with a blocked valve body, installed another one, problem solved, picture and location given in earlier post)
    4. Resetting of ECU.
    Hope it solves your issue.

    Hello guys,

    I have 2006 steermatic, well maintained and 85k milage done.
    I am not satisfied with the pick of car, as a 1500cc car shud have.
    I recently had Throttle body service + tappet adjustment from Honda Classic Islamabad.
    This solved my one issue of accelerator pedal stucking while driving.
    But the car's pick issue is still there. Specially with AC on, my car really dies. And also, the fuel consumption becomes double.
    I once took a chance to go to Monal with car fully loaded.
    It was a shame for me, when on one sharp turn the car stood still, even i pressed the pedal to its last stage.

    Also, please tell me, what is normal drive RPM. I usually drive around 2000 to 2500.
    It goes to 80kph at RPM around 2000. But to reach 100kph, i have to go to 3000 RPM.

    Any suggestions/help appreciated.
