    Did it happen just once or is it a frequent occurence??? If its the former then it maybe due to steering lock. Try moving the steering side to side which will unlock the steering and the key

    @Bhoot no cd/sunroof/retractable mirrors
    yes am/fm/cassette player

    @taimoorkhan
    If the steering is locked then you need to turn it side to side,just assume that you are making a quick left turn immediately followed by a sharp right turn but from your description i think it wont be due to steering lock as its not a frequent occurence.

    Earlier you said retractable mirror,which is a term used for side view mirrors. If that is what u mean by retractable mirrors then in local cars you can get that in civic VTI oriel only,but since now you have written retractable windows and i get a feeling you actually mean power windows then you get them with many locally assembled cars including all trims of city. Oh and not having a sunroof is such a major drawback...imagine what one would do w/o a sunroof with all the pleasant weather we have here in lahore

    I saw an old thread in which you started a debate over lancer FF cng Vs city steermatic. You have mentioned that you were leaning towards the lancer,im just curious what made you change your mind.

    taimoorkhan:

    is your city manual or auto?

    If auto then i hope you know that you have to put the gear lever in P before taking out your key, not sure about IDSI but thats the way it works in my steermatic.

    Salam

    @bluntknife, bro, at that time there was no Steermatic at Honda showroom and i only checked idsi. One day when I came out of the masjid after Zohor prayer I saw a Steermatic parked outside. I asked the owner about the car, its drive and almost everything. also inspected it inside out. I found it quite better than idsi, in terms of quality and finish. Then I discussed it with more people who owned Lancer and Steermatic. A relative of mine had both and he preferd Lancer over Steermatic in terms of quality, but he said "Steermatic kee drive ka apna hi maza hai". Also he mentioned that Steermatic was better than Lancer in terms of fuel consumption. It was when my interest in Steermatic grew. I also observed that the price of CNG is increasing constantly and a CNG car would require more maintenance/checkups. Then Steermatic was technologically superior and had futuristic look. So I decided to go for it. Another plus was that Honda was offering a scheme on it which incresed its value. So I just couldn't resisit any more.

    I was in the same dilemma,liked the lancer primarily due to better interior design and better overall built quality and liked the city beacuse of the smoother tranny. In the end it was the big difference in price which made me decide in favour of city as FF lancer cng/auto was 160k more than the city steermatic.

    As far as fuel efficeny goes,the first tank has given me disappointing numbers,9.2km(all with ac and in city) to be precise and i was feather footing the gas pedal but i am hoping it will improve with time.

    thats strange, even when my car was new (break-in) period the mileage wasnt that bad, I use shell petrol by the way.

    It used to give me more than 10 km/l in the city..

    Salam

    I am getting 11km with AC within city, all driven during office hours that means the most rush hours with longer waits at traffic signals. I neither push it too hard nor too slow, I mean I drive it with average acceleration.

    Guys im so happy with this ride i just did my first highway run and guess what,i got 15.8km/l with ac on 70%(im guessing coz i had set the thermostat such that it should switch off when it gets too cold to bare) of the time. Economical....very much so. I was bitchin about the mileage earlier but from what i have learnt the pso pump opposite cavalry is run by a bunch of theives and now im gettin mine filled from the ghazi chowk one. The mileage it gave me rocks,its still under 1k kms im hoping it will actually be better with time but even if it stays the same,im a happy camper.
    @archon2001
    yup honda will most likely give you the free check,they recommend 1k,5k and 10k for the free check ups but the first three checkups are free irrespective of when you take them provided all are within the 10k km period.

    ASSALAM ALEKUM,

    today my car became 5000km old.
    at 4976km yesterday i give my car to honda drive in with couple complain.

    my complains were:

    1) tik tik noice was coming from a/c duct ( centre one)

    2) some times getting knocking noice from engine in low reves.

    3) noice from front shocks.

    4) hand brake adjustment.

    5) trunk opener cable adjustment.

    rest of the inspection job was as per schedule from honda.

    car given at 0820 am.
    rcvd back from honda drive in at 1630 hrs.

    result complete satisfactory.

    each job was done upto my satisfaction.

    money spent 1730 rps only.
