hello the thread is large enough to read

@huzafiaa according to you the thread is large enough to read but my friend I'm afraid to say that your knowledge regarding steermatic is below the bottom line you should have thanks to Sir @Incognito who is replying your """KINAY FARWARD TAY KINAY REVERSE """ type questions

Yes indeed you need to spare some time to know steermatic as
""""""""she is not a simple machine on 4 wheels"""""""

I'm attaching the pic in which you can see the silver buttons for shifting up & down for gear and under the right shifting buttons you can see the button for 7-speed mode to put her on manual mode and back to auto

yes in manual mode it has 7 gears according to her power and max speed, for example If you want to stretch her upto 220km she shift herself 7 time every time after giving max power around 6000RPM

    Default Steermatic Wanted

Zero CNG compatibility: Yet to find a person on Pakwheels that is happily driving his Steermatic on CNG. Although, I plan to keep the car on petrol for now, but still it would be better to have an option in the future. What is the mileage per liter of this car and is it really true that CNG can't be installed here?

Low resale: I found someone selling his 2007 red one for 850k in today's Dawn.

Complex engine and machinery that the local mechanics don't get: It'll result in greater maintenance cost since Honda people usually charge a lot. Are there any good mechanics of Steermatic present in Karachi?

Size: Of course, Civic is a bigger car.

Market acceptability: Again, Civic wins here I think.

I want to buy a Steermatic but all this has got me double minded. I tried searching on PakWheels for answers of the above mentioned but could only find opinions, not facts. Being the fan club, I know this might not be the best of places to post these queries but I'd appreciate if someone could help me silence the critics.

Waiting for a response from the lovers.
OK, guys. Thanks a lot for your helpful comments. They certainly helped me make my mind up. Steermatic, it is. I need another favor. Please, could you guys help me find a good one. I am looking for a 2007 model in Karachi, max 40k driven, on petrol of course.
    Thanks,

@idealali many congratzz for the steermatic & welcome to the club

as your ride has above 40k driven make sure with previous owner that it was properly serviced @40K which include

1------get the tappets adjusted if needed
    2-----throttle body cleaned
    3------ automatic transmission fluid (changed)
    4-------spark plug (changed)
    5--------oil & oil filter (changed)
    6--------brake fluid (inspect before changed)
    7---------fuel filter(changed)
8--------- alignment , balancing & sweeping of the tires.

If in any doubt, yes get your car inspected from Honda and replace all the above mentioned things to bring the log book under your belt.

You are requested to refer to the Maintenance Schedule (Page no: 121) provided in the Owner’s Manual of your car.

Thanks a lot incognito, accord and heartz.

Steermatic, sadly, does not have a good resale. People can't seem to fathom the lack of CNG option in the car, it seems. That is a good news for purchasers like me and your friend, bad news for the nation as a whole.

I found a very neat Silver Steermatic 2007, around 40k driven, at a showroom near Islamia College going for 940k. Sadly, it got sold very quickly before I could lay my hands on it. I also looked at a few others 2007 ones. My experience says that you can find 2007 Steermatics from 925k to 1000k and 2006 ones from 850k to 925k. Clean cars are not easy to find, though.

Regarding mileage, I haven't run the car enough to comment yet. I am still doing my first tank.

    I hope it helps.

@All: Thanks a lot for all the help so far. It's been exceptional. The Pakwheels community is really a big help for amateur drivers like me.

I have couple of other questions. The car accelerates itself (when I remove my foot from the brake) better when in reverse mode (R) than when it's in drive mode (D). The difference is quiet noticable and you could actually feel it. It's really slow to pick in the D mode automatically and rather more than quick in R. I haven't ever owned an auto tranny before but this doesn't make sense. It should rather be quick in D and slow in R, naheen or at least the two rates should be equal? What do you guys say, is this normal? If it's not, what could be done to rectify it and where could the problem lie?

Also, I refueled today and the mileage I got was not impressive, 9+ km/l. VTec should be giving a better average, no? Granted that I pushed the car a little since I wanted to check how much it can do but still. I'll be changing the oil and the filter this weekend. Is there anything else that I should be giving thought to regarding this or is this the average I should expect?

@ali, never really noticed the difference in D or R when foot is removed from the pedal. I'll try it and let you know.

As for the fuel consumption, try filling up with Caltex on Fountain Chowk (near State Life Bldg at Zainab market) if that is easy for you. In my view that is the best pump. On regular (non-HOBC) gasoline, you should be getting somewhere around 10.5 Km/L in Khi traffic with A/c.

Also try to pour 1 bottle of STP fuel Injector cleaner (available in white, black and silver colour bottles) in one tank fuel. That might unclogg the carbon deposits on your fuel injectorsa and increase the gas milage. White bottle is for around 300, black 400 and silver 550.

Piece of lens & the size of bag in the front seat is suggesting that you are using the rite gadget for this black beauty

Bohat alla shots and beautiful ride (ALLHA Mubarak karay)

Enjoy yourself & test her up to its limits

Push her up to limits in “D” mode
Kick her down by pushing hard on "S"
Make her scream in manual mode
    Enjoy the thrust in”S” mode
Listen to her roar when VTEC kicks

    Thanks guys. Very much appreciated.
Photography is a hobby of mine. These shots are taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 1000D. For closeups, the camera was mounted with the 50mm f/1.8 lens (visible in one photo). For wide angle shots, the camera was mounted with the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
Glad you guys liked the photography.
