Default True Fuel Average of Honda City Idsi

    Hi Guys,

I have just bought a new city vario manual. I have had read that its milage goes up to 18 km/l within the city. Unfortunately for the first 350 kms I did on mine, the average appears to lower than that - around 14-15 km/l.

I am running under 3000 rev - and not over 80 km/hr - which I believe the most economical driving mode.

Would like to hear fuel averages from other guys who have owned an idsi or used it?

    Thanks,

Pardon the vario in the first post. I have been reading about Vario in another post and it carried over here. It is the manual one I am talking of.

@RedBull sounds good if the average improves after the breakin period. I have got 185X65 R14 - probably my average could have dropped a touch cuz of that

    @ waqarcheema

Yes Well the bigger tires do affect the mileage a little !

Btw, as your car is in the breaking period, do Rev the engine a little more then 3kRPM and then let it wind down itself ! Just do this sometimes in breaking period.

This will help the engine and will ensure proper sealing of the Rings and other mechanical parts ! Cheerz !

    195's will obviously reduce mileage.
Also get a tune-up (spark plug setting)done from Honda at 5k kms n ull notice a difference
try NGK IX iridium plugs for extra mileage..

@kiani1 and @termiii thanks for your suggestions. Will try these things out.

@ahsan1702 thanks. It appears that 15km/l with AC is more like average milage of City Idsi Manual.

city,s mileage kind of varies with the mileage done on the clock i.e when my city was driven 5k kilometers i noted around 11-12 kilometers per litre. Now, when the odometer is at 17k it gives around 12-13 with tyre size 195/60/R15.

somebody tell me if it gives more than that on the same tyre size.

with or without ac do not make much difference.

11.5 km/l is not bad at all for a 1.5 Vtec in Karachi - I think same car would have done aroung 13 km/l @islamabad cuz of lesser traffic.
