    Default City 1999 Engine Upgradation

    Hello all,

    Just to share with you guys that last week I got my City 1999 upgraded from 1.3 Carb to 1.5 EFI. The engine I got is D15B. Sorry I didnt have my camera with me during the process so no pics. Over all I have mixed feeling about it. The whole process is real pain in a**. To much modifications in wiring. The biggest problem, which I never anticipated, was installation of fuel pump in tank. It takes a lot of machining and cutting. I havnt tuned the engine yet and its currently running as is. Gave me 13.5 km/l on motorway fully loaded with A/C on. total conversion costed me Rs 25 k. I am using the original tranny.

    Performance is very good. Lots of low end torque. I havnt tried CNG yet because I want to get it set in petrol first.

    I guess engines are same for but wiring, sensors and ECU are different between OBD1 and 2. My guess mine is OBD1 JDM ECU. Its part No is 37820-P7G-J91.

    I didnt manage to get any info about it from net either. Lookes like an odd model with only A and D connector and different pinouts from standard OBD1 ECU. I am attaching two pics.

    @lowresolution
    Waqar is right.
    Pre 2000 were either 1.3 Carb or 1.5 EFI also called NEO.
    Post 2000 before iDSI were only 1.3 EFI and no 1.5 version. Had mine EFI already, my swap would be much easier.

    Got ur mail. Man u should have installed the Dual vtec one. It gives better fuel economy n alot of performance. Anyways, I would suggest that u get the wiring done by a professional, as it would save alot of time of urs.
