Default CNG in city CVT (Vario)

    Hi Guyz,

There r a lot of speculations regarding the function of cng in city vario.

The CNG guys(Al mubarak and automax) say that it works absolutely fine on cng and they have receieved no complains as yet.

Whereas the honda pit stop guys have different view, they say that the gear box starts giving noise, if the car is converted to cng.........

Ive a city vario and im really confused whether to convert it on cng or not.

And I find no logic in the honda guys that the gear starts making noise if car converted to cng.

What cng has to do with tranmision??? After all its just an alternative fuel......

What do u guys say ...........and if any one has vario converted to cng, plz share here!!!!!!!!!

    Regards.

    Taimoor

i am a steermatic owner and as double-minded as you are buddy

the best thing is to get reply from people who have vario or steermatic with CNG for quite some time and are happy with it !

guys try to avoid CNG for as long as you can...if you really really cant afford petrol as in your annual mileage is really high only then think about cng

my mami's 2004 vario has new put cng and sucks big time. God knows the reason but it doesn't convert to gas so easily and every time it starts i can hear the engine roaring 31 steps upstairs.

Guys, CNG is an alternative fuel so to say that the gear box makes fuzzy noises as a result of cng use is pretty unpragmatic. Its a Honda for one(lets negate the fact that it has anything to do with local assembled). Secondly, CNG is just being used in lieu of petrol and although you compromise on performance, that doesnt mean its going to ruin your engine or the CVT gearbox! I've driven both a Steermatic on CNG and a Vario, and the Steermatic drives pretty well becuase its a 1.5L 16V engine as opposed to beating an already small engine such as the Idsi! Base price, if you can run it on petrol, nothing like it, and if you want to install CNG thats perfectly alright, but saying it wil mess up ur engine or the gearbox is just lame.
