    Default Corrola XLI or City??which one is better?

    Guyz im new here n hav come to get ur opinion... i have a budget of under 9 lac n im totally confused between XLI and city. I want a car that will consume less expenses in fuel, running and maintenance. I wanna run my car on cng. Now i dunno how these two cars will perform on cng but i hav heard that city is more fuel efficient than XLI and this will be the case in gas consumption also...is it true?

    Also, due to fuel efficiency i was going for city but then some1 told me that city parts like the windscreen lights etc are very expensive compared to corrola..so in case of accidents or minor dents corrola will cost less. is it true also?
    plz provide ur knowledge guys on this..

    hello!
    i think as afor NGV CNG car.....XLi was the best option.....hundreds of metro cabs are doing hundred kms a day on CNG.....so i think u can see example in front of u....City is fuel efficient in petrol but when converting on CNG...some difficulties should come due to its pre advanced ignition and I-dsi....there u don't need advancers..so it can also do better but Xli i am sure that i can't make much troubles in CNG...petrol 52rs/L...XLi

    thanx guys..yar no one purchase a car for frequent accidenting n denting..but sadly u know karachi roads n traffic..dents are normal part of ur life...r spare parts n body of new city very expensive compared to XLI? and what do u say about the durability of city? anyone of you own a city 2005 model? these days XLI's waiting period is 8 months compared to 3 months of city so thats why im thinking of city.

    sali2002 ur right that metro cabs XLI on cng are working good but do u know anyone who owns a city with cng? what is the performance?

    well....
    XLi performs very well on CNG as compared to city... n it has more powerful engine as well coz of its 2 cam shafts... but its drive is not impressive at all........ city is much better dan ZLi... in city u will get all power features plus u can get auto tranny where as XLi is just a basic car........
    so if i was in ur place i wud have bought City.... no doubt in dat....

    We have both city vario and xli. If I were you I would go for XLi. My take on City vs XLi battle is:
    1. City if you want an automatic car and want to run it on petrol
    2. XLi if you want a manual one and want to run it on CNG.

    Btw our XLi and City vario are on petrol and frankly I hate both of them. Both of them are really uncomfortable, the seats are hard and their shock absorbers should be renamed shock observers or shock enhancers.

    If I have to go for a long drive out of city I prefer my old car Honda City 98: Really comfortable plus its on CNG

    Go for the City. Period. Engine wise, the Vario is initially slow, but after 100Kph, really kicks in. Its aerodinamic shape makes it slightly more stable than the Corolla, braking is much much better. Interior wise, the dials, the CVT transmission console, and the best aspect of it all;power windows and power side view mirrors. Xli is a shame! DOHC RULES!

    @GLI:

    (XLI is shame and DOHC rules)..wow thats interesting; just bcoz u have GLI therefore XLI is shame..Bhai meray vario infact is vice versa, its fast at initial and slower at the top end.. do think before u write.. and write on facts..

    @NonComposMentis:
    Well said.. thats absoulutely right..

    @khurem:
    Go for xli.. and u wont regret...biggest fault in city is u cant see bonnet while driving at all! handling is worse until u put some 15" alloys with low profiles..IDSI is 8 valve engine.. made for fuel efficiency only, not for performance.. and its not that extra ordinary fuel efficient too..
    Power!!

    i think every1s saying XLI is better choice if i run the car on CNG..as theres no question of using petrol when the prices are bloody high! i've also heard auto gear transmission model of City works pathetic on CNG n does not support anything but petrol...btw hows the mileage of XLI on gas compared to cultus or any other model on CNG? how many KM XLI will run on a tanky full?

    khurem

    definitely go only for City.
    Honda looks to have better quality control than Toyota (specially talking with reference to Pakistani automotive industry)
