You are lucky actually, im in sargodha (not rwp as stated in my location). the honda dealership here was set up in early 2006 and i got my city in mid 2006.that means their mechanics arent well experienced.i kept maintaining my car from them until the first 1 lakh kms and had many, many many issues with them.here are some of them in detail.
1) At 20,000kms (first major service) they told me that brakes also need servicing.i said do what ever needs to be done.i went there at 3pm and they barely handed back the car to me at 5pm (half of the staff was gone) as soon as i got out on road, i felt the car to be very heavy, it wasnt accelerating.as dealership was closed, i went home driving slowly only to find out that they jammed the rear brake pads by adjusting the hand brake, i could smell the pad burning.
next day i went there, the guy there took test drive and said everything is alright, idsi is underpowered thats why u feeling that.i said why dont u reverse whatever u did with it yesterday? they charged me again for undoing the same job.anyways, issue solved.
2) at 40,000kms major service.they opened the throttle body n adjusted tappets etc etc.when they were done, my car started jerking badly even on 1500 RPM.the SENIOR mechanic there claimed that the one of the valve of engine is dead because of cng n u gotta get it done at a cost of around 12k PKR.now how wud u feel if u drove in without any issues? paid nearly 3k for tune up and u were told that the valve had suddenly gone dead while the car was parked and being worked at? i took one for them with me for test drive n because it was a test drive, i floored the car trying to feel the difference (negative). when we got back, can u imagine what he told to the SENIOR mechanic? "ay bhaii jan gadi enj bhaganday nay , valve ty down hona he si" i was like WTF dude! i called my dad, informing him about the situation (owner of this dealership is my dad's very old friend n class fellow). once again, u cant imagine what the owner said to my dad, he said "i m really sorry but these workers are out of my control now.i get many many complaints daily n i dont know what to do so i just excuse, now u get ur car fixed from any mechanic n i ll pay for that" then i called him n he said "im sorry boy,but i cant do anything,u gotta get the valves done if they are dead" i left the place, went to my old mechanic who used to fix my khyber, on the first look, he said the intake manifold isnt properly fitted.it was leaking just behind the spot where it enters into the cylinders.he charged me 200rs and my car was back to perfect.
3) once they tried to sell me a used air filter for price of new.he brought the air filter, i said why is the packing open? he said i JUST opened it.i turned it around, hit it lightly on a table there and i cud see dust coming out of it!!! need i say more?
so guys, these are some of the FEW incidents that happened in the 2 yrs of maintaining my car at Honda citrus fields Sargodha, after 100,000kms, i found a mechanic whos THE BEST one i ve ever seen/heard in my life.and in the 92,000kms after i switched mechanic, i ve had NO issues at all with my car, Mashallah.
That is why im against authorized dealers.
and oh, this mechanic of mine charges almost the same or sometimes even more labour then Honda guys do but i never complain, bcuz i know his quality of work...!!!
