    @khalidfarooq
    Go back to the installer and tell him to fix it if he cant do it find someone who can as i have been told this is fixable and only due to faulty installation. Until then convert to petrol every time you reverse as it only takes the touch of a button to convert. A word of caution, in my research i have found that this grinding noise in reverse gear is the first step towards tranny failure so make sure you dont take it lightly.

    its not my opinion but people say in steermatic there is no need for cng coz its not suitable for it
    There is nothing in this world that can end your potentials for doing something..

    Well my car also gives this type of noise when in reverse gear but only when brake pedal is pushed and it seems that this is because of the vibrations. As soon as the brake is released and the car starts moving, the sound vanishes. The car is honda city vario 2k4 model.

    Steermatic and CNG dont get along!=p I guess the Steermatic Tech is too much complicated for the local mechanics to deal with.But does your car work ok on the 7speed mode on CNG?

    dude i had a civic 05 with Cng at ma place.And the engine of both steermatic and civic vti is Vtec there should'nt be much problems but the thing is you should get it installed from a good person as thats what the main thing is.Ive seen people running accords on CNG and working perfectly find its just about the place where you get it installed from.ive reached this conclusion after researching alot through out PKW

    rooshan: main difference is that civic auto has PROSMATEC while City has CVT transmission and it is said that CVT does not work well with CNG

    I don't think it's entirely related to CNG. Our Vario '03 used to give the same problem, and that wasn't on CNG. I think it could also be an issue with the transmission. Get the CNG problem checked up. If it still persists, then get the transmission checked. Get it flushed and see what happens. It could just need new transmission oil....

    I don't see a logical relation between fuel type, and the transmission...

    Yup it was a headache... but comon... accept it... CAR arent made for CNGs!

    I have driven my steermatic for 1 whole year... but wid proper maintance... doing regular check ups at honda as well as from where I have installed the kit... and it was working fine...!

    Just slightly increase the gas flow on the engine... or alternate is to install automatic LAMDA control... it helps alot...

    then install stage 5 emulator! it helps in smooth transmissions when on Steermatic...

    My word of advice... HAVE REGULAR CHECKUPS... after every 2 weeks... it helps alot!
