useful input indeed... thankx but seems that out of 6 the 1st reply is bit on -ve side.. I just want to confirm is it really too weak on pick ?? and why is that so as its 1.3L EFI bla bla bla ..... does it have any resale value ? my father actually is asking to go for corolla not for a city due to resale factor but I find honda bit luxurious .... again need ur guidance cylestene....

Its not really that bad, I'm exagerating a tad. I'm just used to Civics which are substantially faster

The initial slowness is due to its excellent fuel economy. And it picks up nicely after 60km/h.

And resale, well it has a good resale. We've kept a few Citys and sold them without breaking much of the value.

pick is slower but doesn't matter at all because of the traffic these days......

    consumption is excellent

    spares are easily available.

AC is great (y) one of the best in its league

overall its spacious but i find seats a bit harder, i use to get tired in longer routes & the front pillars are so annoying, could cover a motor cyclist easily! on the whole good comfort.

direct competitor is liana but city has an edge for sure
if tc=p then hc=m where tc is equal to toyota corolla and p is equal to paindu, and hc is equal to honda civic and m is equal to moron

resale might be an issue but i think there isnt a better option among entry level sedan in our market than a honda city, xli is there but lacks features but has good resale

No, we don't run our cars on CNG so I'm just referring to petrol. It has great economy on petrol.

if I can afford both the cars i.e CITY or COROLLA , what u gonna suggest to buy at last
I'm probably one of the biggest proponents of Honda on this forum, so the choice is obvious (to me)

I bought a new City in October 2006. Did 50,000kms in it. All city driving. It returned around 150kms per full tank of CNG with a/c on almost permanently. I drove it very hard, treated it very badly, bounced it off the redline most of the time, serviced it at Honda according to schedule and Alhamdulillah i did not have a problem with it. I sold it 2 months ago for 770,000. It put up with my abuse without a problem so would definitely recommend it over a Corolla.

    @nadeemkhan

I had a 2005 XLI on rent for a month until i bought the City. The City drives alot better. It is more stable and brakes are alot better. I studied the market and decided that for value for money the City is best in that class. Xli slightly more expensive and no electric windows etc. Buy Gli and price difference is too much. City is cheaper than both and is better equipped. I paid 844,500 plus 15,000 delivery. Altogether on the road it cost around 980,000 including CNG, insurance, registration etc. I would definitely recommend the City for being a good comfortable family car.

Well, off topic but i prefer the Lancer. More comfortable, better quality finish, not locally assembled (big point), decent fuel consumption.

This is coming from an ex city idsi owner and current steermatic owner.
Just stay away from the Xli - Gli.
