    Default Problem with my City idsi Model 2006

    Dear All AOA,

    I am facing a problem with my Honda City idsi 2006 model. I installed CNG five months back and have done 10K on CNG. Total running is 29K.

    One day the system fault indication appeared while driving and when I stopped the car its idle RPM went very low and then to zero and engine stopped running.

    I thought the problem was with CNG but same problem was observed on petrol. Fault indication did not appear on next start but the problem of engine stopping remained as such. The probem continued for two days and then rectified by itself. It appeared again after 15 days and then again rectified by itself after one day. I went to the mechanic but the problem was not there at that time and he declared car fit for use.

    Now today again I am facing the same problem which is still persisting. I have talked to mechainc and he says servicing of throttle body and tappet adjustment is required.

    I had got throttle body serviced at 20K and have not changed spark plugs yet. Is there any suggession for this problem?

    Please note that problem appears on both CNG and Petrol and both with and without AC.

    Yes it was orange indication which indicates system fault. It always appears when we turn the key switch ON before starting and disappears indicating there is no problem.

    I think your problem is associated with the car's sensor.
    The problem your having ;the idling issue is related 2 the map asst sensor the one above the engine cover,which adjusts the car according 2 the air flow, if there is a problem with that the car show's the orange light.

    The problem appeared three times and rectified by itself within one day or so. Last time it appeared about ten days ago and i initiated this thread. Since then it has not appeared again.

    Should I wait or something is required to be attended?

    My city iDSI was givin me the same problem a few days ago bt it was fine on petrol. I got the throttle body serviced and its alright now. They recommend throttle body service every 10000 km.

    A better way would be to get a scan of ur car n check if u could get the code from the ecu's memory.

    it could b that one of ur sensor's malfunctioned which led 2 the fault indication. I would suggest that u take the car 2 Honda for inspection just 2 b on the safe side.

    @rauf
    i thought u needed to get throttle body service nd tappits done,but if u had it done @20k kms then theres no need.but theres nothing else which can cause such a problem.as i also faced the same problem then got it serviced frm honda nd it was fine nd has a further 12500kms on that service,still no problem.
    i think u shud check the nearest dealer asap..

    @rauf
    hey tell us one thing,did the detached the throttle body nd then cleaned it wid petrol nd carb cleaner or they just starte ur car on petrol,took off the air intake manifold nd sprayed carb cleaner in it?it they did it this way,sure u just need to get it done again.u need to get the whole throttle body oppened nd then cleaned throughly.

    i used to do that spraying thing almost after a month but when i got the throttle body oppened i was shocked to see that its was 60% blocked....!!

    @ahmadbila

    Yes they detached the throttle body after removing all fuel and air lines and then cleaned it with petrol. Then reinstalled it. It took good half an hour for its maintenance.

    By the way problem did appear again yesterday and is still persisting.

    Is the car still giving the fault indication? if so then i'm sure the problem is with one of ur sensors. U should get them checked A.S.A.P.

    No its not giving indication right now but the problem of low idle speed and engine turning off is still there.
