Default SWAP for Civic, experts opinion needed!

    Guys!

i own a civic 96 vtec. Looking forward to saving up money and going for a 1.8 l DOHC Vtec, i think for starters it will be a good swap. Looking for better acceleration e.t.c u know allthat....POWER!

Now i need to know if anyone out here has got the same engine? what kinda probs they faced after swapping?

What kidna prices should i expect to pay for hte engine and everything alogn with it, will change my transmission from auto to manual as well.

    advices, info, anythings appreciated.

    thanks a bunch!

Bhai pehle windscreen to change karwa lo

Engine ke peeche parr gaye ho. When u were getting back from Pir Sohawa. White and blue smoke was visible from your car so i think u need to do something about the engine but do change the windscreen first

sorry for the late response guys, havent been online much.

SPECTRA bhai, worry you not, windscreen INSHALLAH within a day or two change hojayegee.

jab paisay naheen hotay to windscreen kay lye bhee naheen hotay jab aatay hain to engine ka bhee banda sooch sakta hai, or maybe i suck at handling money....either way windscreen INSHALLAH ab change hojayegee.

and you really saw white and blue smoke ??? man u should have told me before, that doesnt sounds good now does it?

b18c5 sounds too spendy, unless i get it for the about the price i had in mind, i guess i will lay low the idea and go for B16A, still giving lots more horses than the stock ones here and should be more fun to play with.

@BUKSH you at ISB. right? i will give you a buzz sometime soon, i will love to see how ur car runs!

    @hash4u

where can i find ADIL, i mean you happen to have his number or his shop name or something?

it seems though as if its not possible to get the B18c5 if its really that price, unless i steal one and no , i am not that desperate....or am I? lol JK!

anyways i am off to class, i hate mondays from the core of my heart.

    take care for now fellas

hmmm H22A for almost half the price? isnt that weird? why do u guys think its like that? is it coz fueling a 2.2l dohc vtec would cost an arm and a leg!?!?

i guess i need to give myself sometime and think about it, i have 2 options at about the same cost....maybe... 1.6l dohc vtec and 2.2l dohc vtec...

today i will try to meet up with buksh and see how his ride flies!!

i am honestly sick and tired of getting my *** kicked by 1.0l engine cars and its about time i get something worth driving! gots to do something baout it!

also i was wondering, is there any chance i could sell the engine i have ? u know, it might help, i suppose it should go for atleast 15k !

    check out this link!

see the prices, wow! H22A is almost half the price of B18

    pakwheeler:
i suggest you keep a watch on oil dipstick, frequently. honda dipsticks have a little dot which i find not very clear, instead of "f" mark.

    levin bro

i regularly check it, the level seems to be fine, i dont know whats causing the smoke, anything engine related gives me a heart attack!

i am now thinking that it would be more realistic to go for the B16A and later on a turbo.

so until unless i find B18 for as cheap as i am looking for, i 'll probably go for B16A and try to have fun with it .

what could possibly cause the white n blue smoke guys? any ideas?

    thanks.

    @PW'er

The oil rings on u'r pistons are definitely worn out..... u've to overhaul it for sure.....!! I don't know what they call it but the footpath mechanix calls it ring/piece replacement...

sometimes it might be cause of gaskit but in that case u can see bubbles in radiator will presence of oil.....

    Awais,
    Adil's number is 0300 8503373
he is the guy handling majority Honda engine swap's/turbo's/ ECU's and blah blah in Islamabad....
A colleague of mine just sold off His Honda's Turbo , then his car after that. He just added a Turbo on the D16 block(standard engine of your car). It had an amazing performance : )
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....
