    intake 0.18-0.22mm (cold engine)

    exhaust 0.23-0.27 mm (cold engine)

    Note is this "mm" and not thousand'ths of an inch (used by mechanics) ... to convert divide mm by 2.5 you will get approximate values.

    this is for both petrol and gas ... you don't need a separate setting for gas.

    @billa - Fluctuation has nothing to do with tappets ... there could be an air leak around your air filter or a vacuum leak. maybe the mechanic didn't tighten the throttle body bolts enough.
    it could also be your idle air control valve (located on the throttle body), may not be cleaned properly.
    check for air leaks first.

    @zulfiqar - i think it's also called Honda Jazz abroad ... i have settings for the Jazz 1.2. you can try it if you like.

    intake 0.15-0.19 mm (cold engine)
    exhaust 0.26-0.30 mm (cold engine)

    billa - i have never heard of this problem before ... they normally say that when they can't get the settings right ... but i'll have a look and confirm for you in a day or two.

    just for future reference ... when you turn the ignition on make sure the check engine light goes on then off ... some mechanics who can't fix the problem cut the wire for the check engine light .

    @billa
    yes indeed the civic marque running from 2004-2006 had that chronic issue
    i had one for quite some time and faced a similar problem and my mechanic also told me that its a common problem in that particular model
    he said the 'camber' had to be adjusted and i got that done.
    after that the car was fine masha Allah

    if the tappets are within this range then they are fine. exhaust should always be more than intake.
