    Default Can we install 17inch Low prfile Tires in civic 95

    Hi All,

    Can we install 17inch low profile tires in Honda Civic 95 without modificiation in Shocks.

    What is the maximum size of tires we can install in civic 95 withouth compromising on cars comfort. Today i have seen a civic 2001 the guy was saying he hasn't done any modification with suspesnion and 17inch tires are working fine with his car.

    Knowledgable comments from the Gurus are required.

    Regards

    Khurram Shahzad

    you can fit 205/40R17's but it's pointless. you'll get almost no grip advantage over 15's & 16's and you'll be slowing your car down with unsprung weight as well as ruining your handling.

    205/45R16's shoudl be the largest tyres you fit to your car and even then you will have to keep an eye on the bushes of your suspension as they will wear out quickly on pakistani roads.

    The Engine capacity is 1500cc the default engine. So you recommend 205/45 R15?

    @ poster: so u finally bought 95, can u share detials of ur car, (color, price, condition, etc...)

    regarding ur query for 17s & LP, don't do that if u r using ur car as a daily runner... 15s r recommended. U need size thn get 205/60/R15.

    @V8
    205/60R15's are too big for the cars specifications, in that case he might as well fit 18 inch rims to his car as the load on his wheel bearings will be about the same.

    @itsexe
    you can fit the following size 15's to your car:
    185/60R15 (603mm)
    195/55R15 (596mm)
    205/55R15 (607mm)
    215/50R15 (596mm)

    i'd suggest 205/55R15's if you intend on driving with heavy loads or at high speeds, but i'd suggest 185/60R15's if you want a cheap tyre and good fuel economy (less rolling resistance)

    please read the last part of my previous reply again. i personally thing 215's are too wide and offer too much rolling resistance for the car for little benefit over 205's. also with the incorrect offset rims you may find that your tyres rub your arches a littel on the inside while turning on full lock.
