Default MyStRy UNSOLVED, HONDA CIVIC,OVERHEATING..PLZ HELP

Dear All, i have some problem with my Honda Civic 99 VTI Oriel, it gets over heated, needle goes high and water gets dry, When it happened first time I replaced the GASKET and done head facing upon mechanic advise, but soon after 2 days it happened again needle goes high and water gets dry, and mechanic told me that the GASKET has burned again and need to replaced and said it happening due to single naali Radiator, i replaced single naali radiator with double naali original HONDA radiator and replaced and fixed the GASKET again.

But after few days there was same problem that needle goes high and water gets dry. Car is OK in local low speed drive but the problem is happening in the long run approx after continuous drive of 20 to 30 KM needle goes high and water gets dry.

Can anybody suggest me what to do??....i am much worried regarding this issue. Radiator is original, Fan is direct and its speed is ok and there is no any visible water leakage from pipes or radiator.

PLZ HELP ME AND SUGGEST WHAT SHOULD I DO…………….??????? ?

this could be because of a faulty thermostat valve. go to some authorised honda workshop and let them handle the matter. ask them to check at what temperature radiator fan is turning on. Also check all the pipes for leakages

    1) Bubbles formed in radiator when car is on.

    2) If formed den check all pipes coz i had a new gasket and bubbles were still forming coz a pipe was v lil leakd bt water level remain constant. Dere can b a v small leakage just press the pipes hard and look fo it.

3)Check thermostat valve and also waterbody for any leakage.

    Dear Bahi,
Please check your car by three steps
    1: Replace rediator cap
    2: remove thermostat valve
3: Go for double gas kit or replace its head from bilal ganj because it is weak due to continously heat up

You wouldn't believe but when I had a similar problem once, the culprit was the handbrake. It just didn't disengage. As soon as I got it fixed, the car never heated again.

The second option is the radiator cap. Make sure you DON'T buy it from honda, the sell the same sh&t for 700. You can buy it for 300 from any PITSTOP. Keep in mind that the yellow ones are un-original. The black-white-red one is the original one.

Is Gasket Is Blowing Again And Again...The Face Of Either Your HEAD Or BLOCK Is Got Out....You Need To Put New Engine Assembly In Order To Resolve This.....Or If Its Head...Replace Head.....!!

But If Car Is Done Over 170k Or Get Heated So Many Times..Its Better To Replace Whole Assembly Since These Engines Block Face Also Got Bad Resulting In Problems Like These.....!!

well man just change the engine assembly ....let me describe u the issue in detail ....
actually the head of honda is of alluminium and once over heated complete mettelergy is changed ...once u face the head for smoothness ....it affects the stroke as a milimeter on head surface has a vital effect on stroke (WHEN PISTON MOVES FROM TOP DEAD CENTRE TO BOTTOM DEAD CENTRE)...
once u install new head gaskit mechanics do fiddle with timing belt ...and let me assure u only 10 % mechanics in pakistan can precisely refit cuz of lack of requisite equipment..
there are many other effects that are caused by over heating ...so i would recommend u to go for complete engine assembly as after spending too much money u would be standing on the same milestone with same problem ...i think u wil get theassembly with in 25 thousand from mithu khan ...in pindi ....they will give u 10 days gurantee ...if anything happens within warranty period u can replace the engine....so if u change the engine u are good to go for next 1 to 1.5 lac kms ...with light acceleration and powewrful engine with better consumption (i hope )so do ur homework and and its up to u to decide ...take care and best of luck

    Dear All,
Thank you very much for your suggesstions. I have checked these things again.

    1- Radiator Cap is Ok
    2- Fan Speed is OK
    3- Thermostate Valve is OK
4- All pipes are OK having no leakage.

But the overheating problem is still.....as it was.

Now i gona do these things in few days.

1- Will install new Water Body.
2- Fixing of new Gasket made of asbestos material.
    3- Head Facing

If the problem will remain same then i will go to get new engine assembly from Ahata Mitho Khan. Can any body tell me exactly that which one is the right Shop to get new engine assembly ?? and how it will cost after giving them my old engine ??

    PLZ REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did you check your thermostat valve? Just get a new one and a new water body. Then see, this might save you lots of money. you have already done too much, take things out smartly.

You are wasting your time and money. New water body will not solve issue of overheating. You have an overheating problem due to loss of coolant. Since changing the head gasket did not solve the issue, the problem is most likely a warped head which needs to be replaced.

SER_GTR and Soldier2000 are right, follow their advice if you want to solve this issue.

Your problem is related to dealing with mechanics who are really not technically competant .. and hence it is your own fault that your vehicle is giving you problems.

Since you dont appear to be technically sound yourself, i suggest that you bite the bullet and take the car to a proper Honda Dealer. Since you are in Islamabad, your best bet is the Honda Classic in I-9.

    Some additonal Points;

A fan SHOULD NEVER be direct on ANY Car. A car with a direct fan would have accelerated Wear and Tear on the Engine thereby reducing its Service Life. A Direct fan also increases fuel consumption and reduces the life of the engine oil as well.

There could be a number of things wrong with your car. For example the thermostatt could be damaged, overheating may be have damaged the head. The work done by the mechanic may not be up to the required quality standard. There culd be air in the Cooling system etc etc,

I once again urge u to bite the bullet and drop your car immediatetly at a Propeonda SHop before you blow up your engine altogether
