    Default HONDA Civic 2000: High Temperature !

    Dear Professional Pakwheelers,

    Assalamoalaikum,

    I hope and pray, all of you would be fine, Insha'Allah !

    My HONDA Civic VTi 2000, is having problems with its temperature. Even after filling the water in radiator and the bottle. The needle reaches and some times cross "H". Someone has also adviced me to remove the thermostat valve, found in the adjoining metal pipe from the radiator connected through a hose pipe.

    Radiator and its cap, Gasket, Waterbody, Hosepipes and Clips have been checked thoroughly.

    What else could be the problem ?

    Recent change : Water Body.

    It is being such a pain, kindly help me with serious and effective suggestions. I shall appreciate and may Allah SWT reward you for the help and support, Insha'Allah.

    Shall be looking forward for replies from those who are technically sound !

    @hash4u

    no, after getting the water body changed, things were calm and good.

    it started almost 3 months later, so I assume, it has nothing to do with that.

    Thanks for telling me about the thermostat valve, I'll get it removed.

    JazakAllah kher !

    The thermostat valve should not be removed. Instead confirm if it is working fine. If faulty, put a new one in. because without it you will not be able to operate the engine on min temp required.
    2. Did u use anti freeze to replenish the cooling system.

    The thermostat valve will open at 80 degree C and wont allow the temp to drop below that, wether or not the fan is direct or automatic. Moreover, in the morning it will take a lot long to attain the temp and till that wont happen the choke will remain engaged, keeping the RPMs at much higher level. The fuel effeciency will be adversely affected. So Mettalicfusion you must restore your cooling system to its original status. No short cuts. rest decide as per your budget.
