    Its a relatively problem free car, but since you asked here are some basic issues:

    1. Driver side power window has a defective railing in 2007 models; this is a universal recall which affects all countries to my knowledge. Honda changes the railing free of cost under warranty.

    2. Manual transmission and drive-by-wire takes some getting used to, it has a bit of a lag as is common with all DBW cars.

    Almost 3 years later, I have no complaint with the build quality, drive, durability. Its still as good as the day it came out of the showroom. (y)

    @panicslayer
    lol...i just saw the 09 Corrolla thread ..Really shows the difference
    .......

    we Just bought an 08 Civic ...It is problem free..
    No issues at all ..I feel its Very well made and the quality is pretty impressive as well.
    The only concern i can think of in the manual trans is when shifting to 1st or 3rd ..Its a bit of a strech...thts all
    .

    It may have something to do with seeing the Mercedes star on the hood guiding the way, the Benz specific solid feel, the Power, the Looks, the Prestige, but whatever it is, its intoxicating!!

    @ poster,,, i am a proud owner of a 08 civic manual, i have the same problem as owais01, 1st is a strech, en sometimes shifting into second is kinda hard,, i mean sometimes, very rarely i cant shift into second, have to try 4-5 times..dashborad tends to get dirty really quickly, the huge pillars on the front side are kinda a drawbak, they are soo wide that sometimes u cant see, on ur right... otherwise an awersome car..

    ^ wide pillars are a safety and structural integrity element. You get used eventually to seeing out the quarter glasses in front when you can't see.

    I like the gearing ratios of the car, it loves to rev. Though I agree on the second gear issue, it has a tendancy to pop, but its usually because the clutch isnt pressed properly. I firmly believe this car (if you're using it as a daily runner) is designed for the auto tranny which is very smooth.

    My uncle bought a oriel p/T
    He changed his generator belt route changed under warranty from Honda service.
    I dont know the exact fault though but honda said that a few cars has this fault and generator belt makes funky sound.

    So get it done under warranty...
