Default Problems in Honda Civic 1.8

This thread is only about problems in Civic 1.8. No irrelevant replies are allowed here. And only owners are allowed to reply here. Just like problems in 09 corolla and 09 city is running this is only related to civic 1.8 (from its introduction in Pakistan).
It is impossible to please everybody.

In my case the problem was solved for like an year and half. Then in the end, it again appeared. 20000 includes labour and everything. Take the car to Honda Capital in Islamabad. Their mechanical dept has good reputation among locals.

WD40 is not freinds with rubber - its on the can itself, and furthermore the factory manual also tells you to use silicone spray that will actually nourish the rubber and make it slick too, WD40 is like a band aid that helps it slick - but when it starts to dry out it swells it up again. The spray I mention is a once a year item and you dont have to mess with it weekly.

Its your car, your choice - do whatever you want with it, I on the other hand like to keep it the way its supposed to be kept.

I thought this problem was known to be in pre 09 models only. The car is question is 2010 vti oriel prosmatec
If such happens in future, u can close the window by not activating the auto option, and its going to go up as it should, just that ul have to hold the button unless the window closes completly.

And yes Hondas have this issue almost ever since or atleast on most of the cars 2002+

    had in our Civic 02, 04, 06, 07, 08
Have it in Our City 07, 08 too.

btw some one told me, the 7cf interior polish sprays are better tobe used rather then using WD40, or else machine ka teil
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    Aoa,
I got a brand new civic in Sept last year
thought it would be fun driving but in all honesty the experience was horrible
    It had following issues:

    • Hand brake jam
    • Clutch spring noise
    • Extremely light in driving
    • Door panels had marks of REGMAAL

So finally got rid of it. Im much happier now
Its a matter of grave concern for the customers as Honda is selling absolute third grade stuff now.

As for a matter of fact, I have noticed a BIG difference in ride quality between my April 07 Oriel and Sept 2010 Oriel. The dashboards and gadgets of the latter one were more soft and finely made. Where as the new one looks a big plastic type to me.

    I miss my ex-ride

100% true. even a friend working in honda atlas confirmed this fact. he said that 2006 civics have less problems as compared to newer ones.

The parts were Thailand from day one. From what I know a few interior materials have been localized. A decline in quality is usually expected towards the end of the model's life cycle.

    Smile No Problemo

I bought a brand new oriel manual in march 2008 drove it for 2 years no problems at all.. Drove it from Karachi to murree and back twice no issues in fact I loved it as compared to the corolla we had in 2005 i had regretted driving it after I crossed hyderabad.. Sold it 6 months back and got this brand new automatic one and its amazing.. no issues guys... We have always been a civic fan and I dont think we have had any issues by the manufacturer ever.. If anyone has faced problems I would say it can be an exception as nobody is perfect.. But still Honda would have 99% less problems than Toyota Corolla... Hope the corolla fans arent mad at me
