    Default Problems in Honda Civic 1.8

    This thread is only about problems in Civic 1.8. No irrelevant replies are allowed here. And only owners are allowed to reply here. Just like problems in 09 corolla and 09 city is running this is only related to civic 1.8 (from its introduction in Pakistan).
    It is impossible to please everybody.

    Iam keeping one from the last 3 years. No problems so far except few mentioned in the beginning of the thread. Even though my car has hitted potholes several times but my car is still in perfect condition.

    And the axle problem comes when ever a car suffers a SEVERE impact on its tyres. And that is not surprising. Isnt it

    @internal_auditor: why are you allowing pointless enteries on this post like this?
    will appreciate if you remove crap like this so that people looking for correct information can get what they want quickly.

    BTW: Corrolla faults has more then 10 pages of discussions; here civic: I guess less then 5. What proves ... ?

    Proves that there are less civics than corollas

    And more surprising is that here on PW more people talk about civics than their owners.

    @internal_auditor: why are you allowing pointless enteries on this post like this?
    @Internal_auditor is not a moderator on Pakwheels so its not a matter of him "allowing" posts like this. You can also check @internal_auditor's history and you'll get an idea of why he started this thread anyway.

    And more surprising is that here on PW more people talk about civics than their owners.
    You just stole the words right out of my mouth. People with Civics didn't bother opening this thread but others were "concerned" enough to make a thread about it and try to find faults. lol

    A mechanic in Honda North told me that they got a couple of axle cases in the past. Not sure about the 2010 models.

    Great car, exceptional power, excellent road grip and handling but extremely uncomfortable rear seats.

    I have 2 honda civics in my organization one was bought in 2007 and other one 2009. and many of my cousins and friends have civic. the new civic so far has no problem regarding axle or suspension. as this time civic's ride is more harder than softer if we compare previous versions. i think for indian market they have changed suspension more towards hard and durable. so you wont feel the luxurious ride that you used to have in all previous models. its shockers are very good. and still its the best ride of all the cars assembled in pakistan.

    The Civic has always had a stiff suspension. This one has a slightly stiffer one and its the same across the international models.

    did you change the back tyres to front ones and front ones looses tread fastly than back ones. I just read that all cars in USA have their steering tilted just slightly on right to avoid head on collision if one sleeps while driving on highway.

    @cylestine
    brother i have civic i-vtec prosmatec 2010 the car has 12,500 kms on odo and the two problems which i m facing is that firstly there is lot of black carbon in silencer as compared to other same model cars . I got it checked from Honda 3S dealer and the technician told me that my car was getting dirty fuel although i was getting 50% of hi-octane and rest super and i m using Mobil S plus oil and change it after 2000 kms and you know Mobil S plus a superior quality lubricant. My car usually travel on motorway but still there is carbon problem but the accleration and other factors are perfectly fine . Secondly whenever my car is used for a longer period there is sound of boiling water which comes from front side . Although i have been keeping strict check on coolent level there is no decrease in it and Honda claimed this might be sound of air-conditioning gas but air conditioner is also working perfectly fine . Your help and view will be highly appreciated .
    Regards

    @129,

    Somtimes a bad or no catalytic converter causes this. Does your car still have the cat installed?
