    performance:
    Very zippy for a 1.8L despite the heavy weight (2650lbs approx). Excellent fuel economy, great around corners despite the height. Fun to drive for an FWD.

    maintenance:
    No maintenance issues, parts are affordable and at par with other manufacturers, infact cheaper than some PakSuzuki counterparts. My Hondas have never broken down in the middle of the road, I guess its just about driving them knowing you bought them with with your own money.

    comfort:
    Without a doubt outstanding. Although the seats are hard, but then they're bucket seats, offer excellent back support and feel grippy. They don't feel like a "certain car's", seat which have absolutely no lumbar support or design ergonomics whatsoever.

    realibility:
    After 3 years of ownership, there have been no reliability issues. The car has just had regular maintenance. So this isn't the car for people who are used to treating their vehicles like **** and like they got it for free.

    @lotus,

    You forgot safety, I think thats also very important.

    Civic's the only Pakistani car with dual SRS, active front head restraints, seatbelts with pre-tensioners + abs & crumple zones which actually work like they're supposed to.

    @cylestyne
    you are talking about 8th gen right??? well to be very honest i have never had a chance to be in an 8th gen yet, though there were a few 6th & 7th gen civics with our relatives. The thing which i have heard with most of the people is that there are too many blind spots for the driver in 8th gen civic, how much of this is true?

    secondly some people have also been complaining about its power windows.. not too sure what actually the problem is.

    & lastly what about the fuel consumption of the three gens in discussion? some people say the fuel consumption of 8th gen 1.8 is better than the 7th gen 1.6 vti.. is that true?

    and i wonder why the civic with R16 engine hasnt been introduced here. like civic was available with either a 1.5exi or a 1.6vti in previous models, this one should have been introduced with R16 & R18 engines here... what do u say?

    i had a cf3 some time ago and i can only say tht 1.8cc consumes pretty alot of gas.
    i had all the civics starting from 1996 up till 2005. and have test driven 2007. i dunno as the gen is passing , the power steering seems to become heavier and heavier. and i was expecting eps on the 2007 but was surprised to see the old oil pump tech.
    never really had any reliability issues excpet the the oil pump screwing up a few times. thts all

About ur point to make handling better by making suspension stiff...... that could be done on any car. Make suspension stiff for better handling and braking. Here we are talking about stock, not modified
    I have 5th gen these days, have kept 6th for more than a year and 7th for more than a year. never kept 8th gen though

    I tell you, as far as the handling, road grip and corners are concern 5th the best.
    drive confort is better of the 6th gen as comparison to 5th and 7th.

    i have kept 6th and currently having 7th and 8th gen. civics and if all the car models are brand new then i will with my eyes closed opt for the 6th gen civic then 8th and then 7th though the 7th is a very sweet family sedan but it loses it charm after 2- yrs of use but the 6th was very gr8 in this case like i kept it for abt 5 yrs and trust me the car never felt that it is old now plus the handling was unmatchable and built quality was the best amongst all cars.

    oh yeah i skipped the saftery feature..... oops but i agree with @usman ansari that they should offer 1600cc too, it will boost up its sales as honda is only competing in 1300 & 1800cc class. nothing in between, 1600 will fill the buffer.

    anyway other thing which a lot of people still prefer the 6th over the newer ones is the tremendous margin of modification. also that the 8th gen in heavy on maintenance & mods

    compared to 6th gen, yes
    compared to honda city, 8th gen has excellent visibility.

    i would like to go with 6,8 and then 7th...
    the reason is that, i have experienced that the handling of 6th generation is awesome and as well as if it is nice maintained then its performance is also cool.
    8 generation is also good in handling and its performance but its height is taller then the 6 generatons.so because of this the road grip of 6 generation is gr8..
    7 generation is the mixture of 6 and 8 generation!!!

    from 1999 when it came to buy a new car we only bought honda civics. first up was 99 vti oriel then came 03 vti oriel then 04(eagle eyes) vti pros and now we are having both 04 n 07 model of civics. all my family members like civics in this category and even if somebody of u ask my ammi abt which gen. of civic uptil now is the best she will widout a doubt say the 6th gen. civic was the best i mean my ammi who obviously does not know much abt cars wud say this.

    from 6th to 8th gen. the best 1 was the 6th gen. then 8th and at last the sweet 7th gen.

    yaar 01-06 civics had their own grace. its just that u cannot park these car side by side and start comparing them. the 7th gen civic is by far the most easy to maintain. its a very simple car and will give u years of company if u take car of it. i know this as we currently have it and still now its in perfect running condition, not a single work required on her.
