Well dude i personally don't think so, if you drive both cars in a good way trust me its same for both variants. yes fuel consumption is higher in AUTO as compared to manual.

I owned a 08 manual civic n now an 08 prosmatec.ive taken note of fuel consumption of both.as far as ive noted both fuel consumption is same.in prosmatec its all about the way 1 uses the throttle.i keep a light foot and the rpm hardly goes over 2000 rpm.at 100kmph the rpm is 2000.if u rev it hard then the gear shifts at higher rpm.

depends on driver not the automatic or manual shifting cars.

never ignore drivers when you talk about cars, half of the issues with cars lie inbetween the statments how well trained the driver are, gong all the way the maintanance instead of doing shortcuts in car maintanance.

in maintenance i don't think there is any special expenditure for auto civic, for 2nd hand car it depends on its condition, an excellent condition auto car would be easy to maintain as compare to an abused manual and vice versa.

The fuel cost of auto would be just a little bit on higher side, but with all the traffic and bumper to bumper drive nowadays, it is much more convenient to have auto as daily runner.
