Default Civic 2000 auto CNG issues

    Hey guys,

I have Civic 2000 automatic. The car runs perfectly fine on petrol but gives some problems on CNG. Firstly, sometimes the pic is not as good as it is supposed to be. Secondly, the car does forward shifts normally on petrol as well as CNG but backward shifts on CNG are very much delayed (takes abt 4-5 seconds in backward shifting and it also happens occassionally). Pls suggest me measures to solve these issues. Thanks

    Sir

Check your advancer, air filter, battery and wires and do some CNG tuning if necessary, like clean spark plugs, service throttle body, check ECU.

Your cars output and transmission are not working in sync.

    Try Enercon @ Kashmir road.

    Regards

Thanks for the reply. All the things mentioned are in order. I doubt that the CNG kit installed in my car doesn't have advancer. Could this be creating problems. I repeat, car is doing perfectly fine on petrol. The problem arises when i convert it to CNG. Thanks

    Sir

Advancer is a must for EFI engines.

If it is not there, it is serious.

Get a good advancer like lendi renzo STAP 00B or green tematoso (whatever).

    Regards

Advancer is not a must in ur car.......i just sold of my vti ...i know a thing or 2 about this car.....

ur car has distributor which can be manually advanced. ur car is giving gear change problem because timing is retard. go to a mechanic and ask him to advance the timing more from distributor.

if u do run ur car on petrol often, get a advancer installed
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

i would agree with hash4.....his diagnosis is right based on what u tell (that it runs fine on petrol)......

probably the ignition timing needs an advance.....can be done from the distributor...typically 5 degrees more than current setting .....(thats what standard advancers do......)........my advice......go to a machanic and use a timing gun before u start fiddelling urself....saves time alot....otherwise hit and trial is always a best solution though time eating)......

and yes u should rather install an advancer if u periodically use petrol........

Your engine is not getting right amount of fuel (gas), readjust the gas settings...... Advancer is not necessary, even wrong type of advancer drops the performance badly.....

To improve better performance always install right kind of advancer...

Guys, Thanks all for your valuable suggesstions. Unfortunately, I have seen all these replies right now and yesterday i got installed the advancer (Neo tek). The problem of gear shifting is gone and pick seems better now. I do drive my car on petrol very often so I think I have not wasted money as some of my fellows said in this thread. Anyways, I will monitor the performance of the car and get back again if I found some thing worth debating. Thanks again all of you. Cheers

Okay guys. I have checked my ride on both long routes and short (where extensive gear shifting took place). The problem has gone and its now doing even 150km/h on CNG (Just did this for checking purpose). One thing i still wanna ask is that the radiator fan is direct still the temp guage comes half way up with or without A/c. Is this fine?? Waiting for your replies. Thanks.

Default Using LX Petrol Fuel Additive to INCREASE ENGINE POWER & Resolve your other points.

You can also use LX Additive at ratio of 1:400 (1 part of LX into approximately 400 parts of petrol), directly into the fuel tank,
and some of your problems will be immediately resolved.

The Engine Power will be increased even when you use CNG !
(After first maintenance service treatment using LX additive)

We have seen excellent results with our end users.
You will really love the Sound of your engine with LX in the petrol.

Note: The LX in first tank-full will help SMOOTHEN the drive and clean the complete fuel line including the ingition system & chamber.
Simultaneously, LX will help you SAVE on petrol consumption,
in the range of 7% to 20% as per engine condition.
(If engine is very dirty from the inside, initially more of the LX is consumed
for the internal cleaning/servicing and lubrication function.
LX also removes Rust and Corrosion from the internal engine parts.
Thereafter, the fuel-ignition efficiency improvement function "kicks-in"
and moisture removal is also improved significantly.

You will also need to add about 30-ml of LX additive into the Engine Oil,
that is 30 ml per 3.785 Liters of Engine Oil to be exact.

LX LE2300 is Made in USA by Lubrication Engineers Inc.,
available in Pakistan with Amin Feroz & Co. (Pvt) Ltd.
along with a full line of Very Long Drain Engine Oils that also
help increase Engine Life by 2x-3x times than normally possible.

    Happy driving

Hey guys. Thanks for your suggesstions for the earlier problem. I have noticed one more thing. The CNG converter of my car keeps on converting from Gas to Petrol when i goes over 60-70km/h and apply brakes or leave accelerator. Why is this happening? Waiting for your responses. Thanks
