Default 2010 civic facelift-July 2010 launch in Pakistan

My cousin at honda Atlas informed me that there will be a face lift of the current civic as of the civic 2010 in the US planned to be launced by july this year.. its was originally planned to be lauched in march but later delayed for the clearance of the current stock.. the facelift model is there in the assembly and the vendors are given the orders to make the new lights, grills and the the dashboard etc...

What I have noticed that whenever their is the faelift or the lights change the very next year a compelete changed new model is introduced by honda .. so I believe there will be a new shape of civic by late 2011..
Bad luck for those who have just bought one or booked recently ... hope to have a facelift model with a rational decreased price after the budget

    @dawar,

The USDM model won't come here-- our kits are sourced from Thailand, Honda Pakistan is heavily dependent on Thailand Honda Motor Co. There's no way they'll make USDM kits for us in Thailand (what we get here basically).

Secondly, the car already has Dual SRS, so that theory also goes out.

The paddle shift transmission is available only in the 2.0L model in Thailand as far as I know, and the cruise control is already there in the car but the controls aren't provided, so that's plausible.

I could have also given the thailand facelift picture.. but dears its USDM facelift this time to surprsie the market I guess and cover the losses recently happened to Atlas Honda and offensive target towards the current corolla market!!!
To compete wid toyota they need a Exi variant not the USDM nd actualy USDM luks more odd, this current shape is better.

@mehran ferrari... There is no use for jazz but it is strongy rumoured about the toyota Aygo/yaris (VITZ JDM) to be launched later this year after the sales trend of i guess suzuki swift cng version which is expected after the budget>> so hope for the best in the small hatchback car segment though the prices are not small

    some of my Wishes...

    No CNG Swift...

Yes we need a smaller Toyota,,, mayb Yaris/ mayb Aygo

Toyota Corola Gli (mayb not Xli be atleast Gli needs to have 1.5L engine)

So with this if theres smaller Honda so y not.. it wud jst add to options and Hondas production line. as per Pakistani mind set the Jazz/ Fit actualy luks like a MPV... (or atleast bigger then the rivals Swift and Yaris/Vitz)
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

A seperate thread on this would focus the matter more precisely.. would post another soon to discuss rational - practical car segments availbility for pakistani auto market.

Citys, okay at 1.3, we rather need a 1.6 Civic to boost Civic sales, i realy wish to buy one but the 1.8 ones cost a fortune, il have to go for a Gli,

SX-4 is nt a car for Pakistani market its more ajeeb then the Liana;s shape, its more like apv small and tall.

How ever kizashi (y) but i dont c that hapening soon. -

what great scenario presented by Dawar. Some modifications that I further suggest:-

    Toyota:

    • Dihatsu Mira/Cuore - 0.8 L (Present Generation shape) *
    • Aygo/vitz - 1.0/1.3 auto/manual
    • Corolla Xli - 1.3 manual
    • Corolla Gli - 1.6 auto/manual
    • Altis - 1.8 cruise tronic/manual sunroof etc..
    • Altis sports- 2.0 6 speed manual

*newer shape with modern efi engine which would replace the old early 1990s shape carby cuore.

    Honda:
    • Life ----- 0.6/0.8L manual *
    • Jazz ------ - 1.3 auto/manual
    • City ------- - 1.5 Vtec auto manual
    • Civic ------ - 1.8 Auto/manual sunroof etc..
    • Civic Si/sports - 2.0 triptronic/6 speed manual

*One of Honda's cheapest car, competition for other budget small cars.

    Suzuki :
    • Alto - 0.8 Efi - manual [mehran phased out]
    • New Alto - 1.0 [Current international alto/maruti a-star shape]
    • Swift - 1.3 auto/manual
    • SX-4 - 1.6 auto/ manual sunroof etc
    • kazashi - 2.0 command shift auto/ manual

    Deewan (Revived):

    • Hyundai i10 (1st gen santro ended)
    • Lancer

Changes that should come from government

    1. Focus on auto exports.

    2. Reduce taxes on cars and taxes on local auto vendors.

    3. Force Japanese firms to carry out proper transfer of technology.

    4. Support any potential fully local automaker. (such as the former Adam Motors which the govt ditched)

    5. Encourage more automobile companies to open up their plants in Pakistan.

    6. All cars should meet modern emission standards. No more room for Japanese firms to exploit the Pakistani customers by giving them the oldest engines possible not used anywhere else in the world.

    7. Creation of a Government agency that gives safety ratings (based on crash tests, etc), mileage ratings and emission ratings.

    8. All automakers must give the option of dual airbags and abs in their cars.

    > Now this is called dreaming................

^ phase out of Maruti 800 and Maruti Omni has already started. They are no longer sold in a lot of places in India as the car does not comply with India's Euro 4 equivalent standards(baharat stage iv as they call it over there). Maruti 800 will soon be completely phased out. The car replacing maruti 800 is the new Maruti Suzuki Cervo.

Just some additional information for everyone:- Maruti 800 is not exactly similar to the mehran, the shape has similarity but there are considerable cosmetic differences. The dash and steering are also somewhat different and the Maruti 800 has side a/c throwers (which came in mehrans till a few yrs ago but now have been removed). Furthermore, Maruti 800 was upgraded to euro-2 compliant efi engine several years ago.

^ Omni is a mini van while maruti 800 being a small mini city car, then i think Cervo wud be replacing it it India, i think @Nick is the person to correctly put some light on it. il ask him in his thread.

Omni too will be phased out along with Maruti 800.Omni's replacement is done with much safer and larger Maruti "Eeco" MPV.A-Star is going low in sales due to lack of rear seat leg room as a major reason.but it handles great.

@froggyjump ... thanks for the compliment ... you made nice suggestions which i forgot to mention.. the govt policy part is really of great value....... there should be some criteria before selecting a cabinet member/ministers.. its really sucks when after 63 years you get a minister for industries who know nothing but to settle deals on how to loot this poor nation with not two but three hands...

Mehran and Bolan -- new technology-- bolan now with specticles-- damn new shape.. same 26 yr old crap... with 60 thousand own on it..

Bhai Honda and Toyota or Suzuki are not competing at all with each other. All these assemblers are over booked. The most obvious indication of competition is when they start giving better quality and lesser prices than each other.

    Default no change till 2011?

hey guys i just visited the honda showroom. and those guys were very clear that there is no change till 2011. I did say that m gona book a civic and if there was any change i would return the car but if that case does happen i doubt whether they would hold true to their word.

Regardless they r pretty sure that no changes till 2011.

guys there is no new civic model or facelift till early 2012. I confirmed this from a very reliable source at Honda factory. Moreover I myself visited the factory to confirm and there were no signs of any preperations for launch of any facelift!

The source who is a very good friend informed that no facelift is even planned because of the losses Honda is facing. He said that people think that facelift is a cheap option for Atlas Honda but this is not the case as a lot of factors are involved such new moulds etc etc and due to the fact that we are already in losses and in order to clear our stock(talking about parts here, not finished goods i.e. finished cars) and maintain economies of scale we will continue current model till 2012 atleast
