Default 2010 civic facelift-July 2010 launch in Pakistan

My cousin at honda Atlas informed me that there will be a face lift of the current civic as of the civic 2010 in the US planned to be launced by july this year.. its was originally planned to be lauched in march but later delayed for the clearance of the current stock.. the facelift model is there in the assembly and the vendors are given the orders to make the new lights, grills and the the dashboard etc...

What I have noticed that whenever their is the faelift or the lights change the very next year a compelete changed new model is introduced by honda .. so I believe there will be a new shape of civic by late 2011..
Bad luck for those who have just bought one or booked recently ... hope to have a facelift model with a rational decreased price after the budget

    Cars make my blood live...

    @ Dawar

Is the Civic "face-lift" still on for this July or has it been delayed? Any news on this.

The complete redesign has been delayed by a year and will now be due 2011 or 2012.

So guys, based on this thread and the various sources people are relying on (whether reliable or not), I think it's safe to summarize the following:

    1) Honda Atlas will launch the next generation Civic with a mandatory wait period of 6 months or so while they upgrade their assembly lines, place orders for new parts, etc, after the latest generation of civic is launched elsewhere in Asia. The tentative date for that works out to be middle of 2012 to late 2012.
    2) The face-lifted model is off the drawing boards completely for the Pakistani market. Smart move on their part, in my opinion.
    3) The next generation Civic will have a price tag north Rs. 2.20 million as compared to the current price of Rs. 1.663 million for the i-VTEC Civic (non-Oriel). If this is true, then that can serve as the last nail in HACPL coffin, which will indeed be very sad for the Pakistani consumers. Honda Civic is arguably the top contender in locally assembled sedans.

I believe that the wishy washy behavior of the Pakistani consumer when it comes to buying a Civic is seriously hurting Honda Atlas and they need to guarantee to the consumer/potential buyer an approximate date for the launch of the next model. This will prevent people from spreading rumors/inaccurate insights about it and help Atlas get profitable quicker.

So will someone from Honda Atlas please take out an ad in a newspaper and let us know if we, the potential buyers, should be paranoid before buying/booking a civic in the near future (i.e. the entire of 2011)?

I agree with cardinal...the 9th civic for Pakistan market would be a more sportier and sharper looking car with enhanced performance, styling and luxury, getting front end looks adaptation from current Accord Euro and City... will get DEFINETLY a bigger engine 2.0, newer suspension and trans AND a newer more aggressive looking driver centric two tier digital cluster interior, continuing on from the 8th..

    >>>NOW PRICE---I believe that the top of the line model (what we perceive as "Oriel Prosmatic") will be costing around 2.2 mils (up by minimum 2 lacks from current), hence on the road NEW CIVIC costing around 2.35 mils with registration and extra pocket money(own)..

and i know Honda Atlas can pull it off easily by throwing in some goodies (what are considered standard or maybe available in higher end USDM Models/JDM Models/Euro Models) like Cruise, Steering Thumb Controls-Audio, Bluetooth, Trip/Fuel Efficeincy Computer, Full Leather-Trimmed Interior, 5 Speed Auto Trans, Dual Front & Side Curtain Airbags, Tire Pressure Monitor, Honda Labelled NAV/DVD/Rear Camera/USB/Speed Sensing Volume, Parking Sensors, 3 step Head Light Angle and Push Start(Maybe) and definetly overall better product quality....

Now comparing this to Altis which is currently costing around 1.85 mils, Civic will set itself apart as a luxurious local car....

SO what brings me to my point is when comparing the newer upcoming Civic 9th to the Current JDM Accord which is costing us what 6.0 mils now, Civic would be more than a half decent car with a price tag of 65% lesser from Accord... WE ARE IN PAKISTAN SIR... ALL IS POSSIBLE.. those who want to drive Pakistan's favourite can drive a Corolla, or those who want high end performance(much more than what we just call here "Gaari ka PICK"), Sporty looks and better luxury,, All of them would have to loosen their pockets a bit more... and i know for sure there are enough customers like that in Pakistan to bring Honda Atlas into PROFIT..
