Guys recently bought a new vti oriel pros black. Need tips from other civic owners on how to properly maintain the car. Car was washed by driver at 10:00am and already I can see a film of dust :o
I don't have the docs yet(including warranty card/booklets etc etc) as the car was freshly delivered from the factory therefore would appreciate if you guys (especially Cylestyne) can guide on when (after how many KMs) to get the car properly serviced from Honda Dealership. What other precautions I should take?
first service after 1k, [replace all filters n oil]
next after 3k intervals,
try to get the car polished, i think its called anti static, something like that.. check with royal shield
p.s congrets on the new purchase..
ahmed usman the first checkup is 1000kms! after that at 5000km and then 10000km! all these three are free from Honda! after that its 20000kms and then 40000kms!
wen u get the warranty books do read it! and since ur car is black colored so it will be a bit difficult to take care of the color! i will advise u to get 3M polish for ur car! i use the same for my civic! and make sure u have the cover of ur car! wen u wana use it just uncover it use it and wen u r done just cover it again! that will help a lot! and dude JUST MAKE SURE u just clean ur AIR FILTER off and on! it will help in giving a better mileage!
Best of luck with your new car bro! Black is The Best Looking colour, but the worst to maintain!!! You'll need to polish it with proper antistatic way, and use micro fibre duster, as normal cloth will not only make fibre prints, it will also scratch your ride! And don't let your driver or service station wash it with soap or surf!!! Only car shampoo, that too a good brand like 3M or Turtle Wax.(P.S: Plz don't tie that 'black ribbon' at the tail!!)
@mani,there u go bro mugenpower n yahyugee gave u the answers u r looking for. and yeah once u clean the car then cover it wid car cover when u know that u wont be going out in the car. in this way the shine of the car stays for longer period of time.
Thanks alot guys for your replies. Here are a couple of pics. Also bought a altis 1.8 S/R Cruisetronic
@Yahyujee
Its the second day and I used Turtle Wax however used normal cloth and could see scratches already I've decided no one touches the car until I get this micro fibre duster. Any idea where in Lahore I can get this from? This can be used for normal everyday washing rite?
^^ corolla too wow MASHALLAH ALLAH naseeb karey. so bro now u have to give detail analysis of ur civic and corolla, i mean tell us which 1 is better yaar civic is in a diff. league altogether seriously.
Drive of civic is wayyyy better than corolla. I dont even feel like driving the altis. Will give detailed analysis after a week
see civic is more pleasureable car to drive i knew ur going to say this
Bought the following today. Two microfiber cloths for exterior, 1 for interior, 1 wax applicator, 1 car shampoo, 1 wax and 1 top cloth
Ok.. here's a product I haven't used so far! SONAX? What is the cost of each item bro? And which country makes it? What are the results? Do let us know.
Guys, I get my 1.8 oriel in vogue silver color washed with surf and get it polished. It comes out cleaner and the polish stays on better with a good shine. That's been the normal practice for each wash, do you recommend I use the appratus that mani-1 has listed.
The prices are
Red microfiber cloth (for exterior) = Rs. 400 eachGreen microfiber duster (for interior) = Rs. 300 eachSmall wax applicator = Rs. 270Mothers Wax = Rs. 1500Mothers car shampoo = Rs. 700
Can't comment on wax/shampoo results as Ill use them on weekend. Also can't comment on results of microfiber because it will prove its worth after a month if I see no marks on the civic
