    Kohat Road = 80 - 100 km/hr (2.3 RPM)

    We don't have the habit of switching off the car on traffic signals. I think it is pretty practical now that most of them come with a ''countdown timer'', and even if they don't, switching off even for one minute makes a considerable difference.

    Plus in summers, we have a habit of having the car totally chilled from inside. Turning the AC knob down to what actually is a cozy temperature also makes a lot of difference in fuel consumption.

    ^^yup turn the car off for a minute or so wud surely make some diff.

    @tashkeel,
    now bro my civic prosmatec with 205/60/R16 tires gives between 7 to 8km/ltr in the city driving in karachi and on super highway(karachi to hyderabad) it gives between 14-16 km/ltr, but it depends on driving style too as my dad and me floor the accelerator once a trucker or bus wala gets out of our way so thats also contributes negatively to the average. and this wid A/C switched on at all times and oh when ever we go to hyderabad we get our car filled up from within the city so u also add abt 35kms of city driving too.

    guys 1 thing i dont get is that if u turn off the car for a minute ok done it wont eat up the fuel but when u start it needs more petrol to start rather then the amount that it needs to be in a constant position(yay mechanics wali theory sae hai kya?)cz if its true then its better to keep the car in idle position rather then just turning off over n over agian n then starting it agian after 2minutes(Kalma Chowk-Lahore)other wise after a few secs on a normal signal + if adopt this practise then it means frequent selfs and will adopting of this practice would harm or in any way decrease the life of our self/ignition or it would only weak down the ignition coil???

    i have a oriel pros and its done 700km and I have already filled the tank 2 times!
    The fuel average is killing me
    I am driving under 2k RPM 90% of the time and under 3k RPM 100% of time. No frequent stops. Each trip is 5km or more.

    In 2007 I had a exi pros and it gave 6km/ltr no matter what I did. I guess have fallen into the trap again
