Default Problems with my Civic 8Gen

From the last one month i am facing few issues with my civic 2008 i-vtec.

first one is that there was a rough noise from engine bay, took it to honda defense, specialist took the road test. Idle Pulley tensioner changed under warranty .. Thank God rough sound gone, less vibration inside car.

2- Today again took my civic to Honda Defense -

Reason - Too much Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm background sound whilst driving
Again road test. diagnosed wheel bearing issue, ordered from Honda Atlas LHR, will get it changed in 2 - 3 days.

Though car is a mechanical machine and things can go here & there, but this shows the quality of products they are using. I love my car alot but bit disappointed with the built quality. . but Thank God everything is covered under warranty.

my ODO meter is jst 16.5k kms but 2 years completing in 15 days . so guys from your experience is there anything else i should tell honda to inspect so if anything is wrong they should replace is under warranty.

Guys i need solution to my problem, its very irritating

in my civic 1.8 i am hearing Trrrrrr sound when i put load on the engine i.e. putting my car in D. its looks like something is touching any part or something is loose. that sound is only audible inside the cabin with close windows and complete silence. i have shown it to my local mechanic he said yes sound is there but its not coming from inside the engine. he looked here and there but no luck.
    any suggestion from you guys
other then sound no problem in the car pick consumption etc. everything is alhamdulillah fine.

I dont know its a problem or a design flaw but when ever I am on slight curving roads at speeds of 100+ the moment I start braking the car starts tailing out. I asked a couple of my friends who own the 8th gen and they said they same they face the same problem. Apparently only solution is to get bigger rims and bigger tyres.

With other cars like corolla etc, the same situation yields understeer which is understandable and controllable but tailing out in the civic is concerning and scary

Sounds like great fun to me

Yes the car does oversteer, very rare for an FWD lol.

Yes a bit of counter-steer fixes it.

Civic total tank is 50Ltrs and all fuel bars disappears when you have almost 6 Ltrs remaining. So i beleive you are getting 450kms in 45 ltrs which is 10km/L which is a great mileage - -i once remmember honda tech telling me that this car gives max 8 in city.

quality of fuel, health of injectors and fuel system overall play a lot. Try good Engine Oil, Fuel Inection/System cleaner and top up from a reputable pump with preferably 35% Hi-Octane

Engine oil is use is MOBIL1 which is the best available in the market. fuel i use is total super which as per company is 90 RON as compared to PSO, SHELL which are 87 RON. Injectors cant go bad in 24k kms and as far as fuel system is concern i dont feel any problem in that. .

so now why is my average still low ? ? ?

    i. Is 90 RON required for this 1.8L engine ?
ii. If you have a good budget for engine oil, you can go for monolec brand - the technologically most advanced. monolec actually field-proven to reduce wear (increase engine life), reduce friction(24.2%), and nearly eliminate the tiny "siezures" that normally occur whenever machines move.

[QUOTE=gferoz;2694703]i. Is 90 RON required for this 1.8L engine ? RON means fuel quality the better fuel quality more efficient fuel burning. so i dont think your point is valid good fuel quality is healthy for all type of engines. hi-octane is i think 93 RONs.

Brother, i'm not saying that RON 90 is not required or should not be used.
I am actually asking you if 90 RON or 93 RON is requried/recommended for the reborn civic 1.8Ltr, is it recommended by Honda and all other gasoline engine manufacturers ?

The recommended RON for R18 is 97. Yes I saw it on the technical brochure of Thai Civic. And the least RON requirement for R18 is 85.

So you can pretty well imagine how performance oriented this engine can get if we provide the recommended conditions.
