Default Engine Oil for Civic Reborn Oriel

    Dear All,

Which Engine Oil I should use for my Civic Reborn. Currently I am using Shell Havoline Semi-synthetic oil. But someone suggested me that its not good. Please need your suggestion.

There are several Threads addressing this issue, I have already searched but couldnt get a satisfactory answer for Civic reborn.

    Thanks

bro didnt heard of Shell Havoline, it must be Caltex Havoline.
its a good Oil i was previously using in Santro and now in my Honda City too. Never got any issue regarding engine.
if u r satisfied then its ok dont listen to other pplz they make u foot ball scroll here and there. u ve used it, if satisfied continue or use ZIC A+ its also good
    so choice is urs.

For this car, you may afford Mobil-1 5W-50, best grade available. In caltex this grade is not available.

it's 5W-20, don't give such low viscosity to engine, Caltex formula 10W-30 is better, or 5W-30 as new car can go with -30 otherwise for hot should be -40.

Caltex people said they blend 5W-30 in Lahore (named: Caltex Energy) or any other brand you like.

    Dear All,

Previously I was using Shell HX7 10W 40 , Semi Synthetic oil, and I usually changes this oil after 4K km.

I discussed with the mechanic, and he said that better use this same Oil. As this oil in good and best for the cars running on petrol.

    What do you think?

    regards,

Zic A+ temperature does not suits to most of Pakistani environment, until you live in northern areas.
See Temperature rating available in Zic A+ box. However Zic A and XQ meets Pakistani requirements.

I 2nd that. Caltex Havoline is the best of the local blends.

Always remember to change oil and the filter as regular intervals.

    regards,
i think yor mechanic needs his head examined.

i'm the agent for petromin in ISB & RWP and i can assure you that most of the oils in the same class as HX7 are good. My suggestion is that you go for any brand you wish, just make sure the oil is up to spec with the current APi certifications and that the SAE rating is suited for our environment. 10W40, 20W50 etc are ideal.

obviously i'll suggest Petromin Ultra7 as well but ultimately the choice is yours so i'd suggest you do your research before changing an oil you are already comfortable with.
