    CIVIC PRICES & AVAILABILITY
    -----------------------------

    Just got off the phone from Al-futtaim Honda customer rep. and he told me to expect it to appear in Pakistan by the end of April as its been available in Dubai since 1st Dec 2005. Though he clearly mentioned this info isn't to be taken as concrete since variables like 2005 inventory sellout and other manufacturing procedures could delay the launch a few months more. Hey no matter when it launches, the thing is, now its confirmed that we'll get the same thing as UAE version. How cool is that!!!

    LXi=54,000 Dirhams (Only available in Dubai)

    EXi=59,000 Dirhams (Rs.962,737)
    EXi with Alloy Wheels=61,000 Dirhams (Rs.995,372)

    VTi=67,000 dirhams (Rs.1,093,278)

    Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that prices may vary when these models actually launch in Pakistan. Variables not known currently include Taxes and other unknown charges. Price conversions done on 26th Feb 2006 from XE.com conversion calculator based on information acquired from Honda Civic dealers in Dubai.

    Glad to be of any help. My family was going to purchase the 2005 version from official Honda dealers in Pakistan being sold to them as the 2006 model. If I hadn't intervened at the right moment, we might had regretted it for the next decade(or until we tried to sell ours for a huge loss within months). Phew!

    So any Pakistani out there shopping for Civics, beware of the fraudulant dealers trying to sell old inventory as new. The model you see above has been in circulation elsewhere on the globe except Pakistan. But should be made available in our home country soon I believe. So hang in there and keep that cash somewhere safe for now.

    @Nashit :

    I believe they have the updated i-VTEC engine or something like that. I think I read about it somewhere in their press release for the 2006 model. Here you go, read it for some detail on the updated engine. Below is a small portion of the entire release.

    ---- Yamada then went on to highlight the changes of the all new 2006 Honda Civic, focusing on three of its major attractive values; an innovative new i-VTEC engine, a Multiplex cockpit, and its sleek one-motion form. The modifications don’t stop there, as the sporty combination of an instrument panel, seats and steering wheel gives the Civic a very sharp rejuvenated look.

    The 1.8L i-VTEC Civic engine aims at producing bigger power output in acceleration as well as low fuel consumption in cruise driving. It is as powerful as a 2.0L engine and brings along with it an impressive 140 HP drive, yet at the same time it is just as fuel economic as a 1.5L engine due to the i-VTEC technology being used (intelligent Variable valve Timing and lift Electronic Control). This will surely come as a relief to buyers because of the recent rising gasoline prices in the region. ----

    You don't have to rephrase it for me. I already told them the prices aren't final for Pakistan. But thanks for trying to help anyway.

    Though I repeat the prices in this thread are only for estimate comparison between the rates in Dubai(Tax-free zone) and how the addition of tax(do your own math) will reflect in the Pakistani market. Please be aware, prices will not be the same in Pakistan as mentioned above.

    Anyhow, here are all the colors that are available for Civic 2006 in the UAE.

    I won't say there is plenty of legroom for rear seat passengers. But there is enough room to call it a decent space. If you've seated in a 2005 Civic then you probably know already how it feels to be in the rear seats of the new 2006. Pretty much the same thing.

    The plus with the 2006 model as I noticed is that the front seats have too much legroom to spare. So if they can move their seats a bit forward from the default setup. I'm sure any space related gripes will be over after doing this trick.

    some of it is becuz of the sunroof there is extra padding in the roof coz of this it makes the roof a bit lower about 2 inches from the normal car without sunroof so no idea if they have tackled this issue in this new model .

    That I can't help you with. Infact noone can. Sitting postures are of so many types I presume. Even I have 4-5 ways of sitting in my car with each one radically changing the visible height of the road with respect to my eyes. At other times, leaning towards the left or right. When I sit straight, back pushed into the seat, then yea probably thats the heighest I can be in my car. So better if you give it a test drive yourself once its made available in Pakistan. Sorry to disappoint you but this is really something you have to find out on your own!
