both of them have almost the same hp. so in a drag in my opinion it will depend on how much good a driver shifts and then the power to weight ratio is also to be seen.

City in my opinion. As its engine would have beared lot less tear and wear. And its lighter too.
Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

I thought i'd never see such a topic again, as annoying as these topics used to be in the olden days they are equally funny now

Anyways, it's not about the power, little 4E-FTE buzzers keep up with torque monster V8s at times, there are thousand things that'd count in a drag.. But in my personal openion i'd say the Exi'd run away from the city.

Why? Well, for a kick off anyone ever tried reving the new city at a stand still? It rev-locks at 4k RPM.. I used to work with Honda and left it 6 Months back when the City had just gone through it's paces in the PDI tests. I used to Launch these little weaklings and they'd bog down off the dig, and those gears are soooo short that at 120 km/h the 5th gear is already over 3.5K.. By then the torquey Exi'd have left the city in it's wake..

Secondly the new city's i-Vtec system shuts down if you hit the rev-limiter in the 1st or 2nd gear, it's a safty feature to keep the engine from over heating if on the rev-limiter. This little safty feature used to kick in if one'd hit the limiter and the next gear'd bog down.. I used to be boggled over why at times the city'd just bog down on random gear shifts..

I'd say the Exi'd smoke the City provided the Civvie isn't on CNG and that engine is in good nick..

.....its not HP here torque is very important and 1500cc gives that pretty good

    Sirs

I do not know what are you talking about?

If we are talking about stock cars:

A new City can smoke a 15 years old Civic any time.

A zero meter car is really powerful, I have a 108PS EXI PROSMATEC and I have to shift to "2nd" to keep up with a 80HP Xli.

My Car is very very well maintained and 2nd gear crosses 100km/hr in around 9-10 Seconds.

However, if you compare a 6th Gen VTI, then the position can reverse.

    Sir

Even then a very well maintained 15 or 10 year Civic cannot keep up with a new City, because it must have done at least 75K KM.

Power can only be tested @ Dyno.

I have raced many 1995-2000 Indus GLI with 1.6L and 2001-2005 SE Saloon with 108HP, but none of them gave me trouble like a new 2010 XLI with only 80-84 HP, and we were travelling at 170KM/hr, It can not be just because of VVTI, new car has its own charm .

Also new City is approx 30% more powerful then a new XLI, and has an excellent clutch and gearbox with unmatched shift quality (even better then Civic Reborn).

Never raced with a New City but I am not confident that my Eagle Eye PROSMATEC can beat it, then how can a stock 1996 Exi, no matter how well kept it is, have a chance against City.

To race a new City, you must have a 6th Generation VTI.

    Regards
