    Default Need Urjent Help Regarding Tuning Of Civic 91 Genuien Engine

    Salam i recently Buyed Civic 91-92 Japan Assembled(Old Shape) 1200cc Engine car, yar i am not satisfy with its shooot and the maximum speed it reaches,both on Petrol and on Cng its just cruising not Flying at maximum speed,though engine sounds great and power ful sound like HuuuuMMMMMMZZZ HuuuuMmmmmmmmmmmZZ and water coming out of silencer,i made its Clutch/Pressure plate checked by different machenic all said its looking newly installed to us and personally i also think its new,i Checked its Plugs they are in brand New condition of Super Bosch 4 Pins well i dont think it suits the Carbi Engine more than injector engine what says?

    please tell me the name of the best performance Plugs for it and are 2 pin plugs suitable for it?2ndly will changing of Plug Wires Effect the Innitial Accelaration of the car?and its top speed??? plus what else do i have to do to increase HP of same engine at very low cost???PLEASE reffer me stuff about best tunings of its and good Machenic in karachi for it? i have alerady change its water body to brand new,i changed its Air Filter and installed Guard(the best told by shopkeeper),i still cant figure out why the Mid period of its Accelation is slow comparing to its normal standards which i heared lots of praise about this car,but so far have'nt found it like that,and also Its RPM is Slow but Steady to Go Up,and it maximum touches the 5x1000 RPM on full accelration when the car is in rest,last thing is when i start the car,its Speedo meter's RPM dont get started,but suddenly exactly after 2 minutes it starts working whats that :-S?

    PLEASE WAITING FOR EXPERTS...

    1 problem found... car is not getting free rev, (a) either air or fuel is not going through accurately (b) get ngk plugs (c) check current flow n check distributer is funcationing properly (c) ask ur mechanic to check air and fuel flow... tell him to make it hav smooth revs till 7k rpm at idle

    or may-be rpm needle is not showing u exact read as u've following problem too;

    seems like rpm needle is disbalanced... get ur speedo serviced by some meter-expert (will charge 200 to 300 rs)

    thanks bro for replying yar appriciate it
    but i am little unknown that what do you mean by REV that i have to make the USTADJEE machenic also understand about it,as i am also not known to it lulz...

    (a)I have install new Air Filter last night,its air filter was like almost blown up when i opened the cover,
    (b)give me options because there are NGK's various models,in past i installed BMW NGK 2 pin plugs in my all 8 civic 95's engine which i had,it did give me some extra boost,could i install it in this also? or just Single Nip?though i buyed those plugs from Shershah in used but not worst condition
    (c)hmmm yar the problem is that the machenic arround me are known to these things by views not by name,so as i due to them :p, can you mention here what are the places to check or to get serviced? that helps air to flow in idle amount?

    might be but i dont think Speedometer also have same problem ...so as i also feel the same,while sitting in the car lulz...

    np bro, welcome...

    Rev is abbreviated for Revolutions... say RPM,
    I meant engine should be freely reving to 7k rpm in idle not blocking at 5k rpm...

    (a) make sure tht air filtre/carby box is properly sealed...
    (b) bro, don't know exact variant of spark plugs that will suit 1.2L 91 civic, y don't u try putting one from ur 95s and give a test run... if they suit ur ride then buy those...
    (c) change ur mechanic then (lols :p)... simple ask him to check flow of petrol by removing in and out pipes for a while and then put them back after checking flow... if flow is less then also check fuel pump
    see urself if there is any oil-seapage around distributer, if there is oil change the ring inside..

    @v8

    Bhai 7K RPM par tu meri VTI bhi rev nahin karti.

    Just joking, nice suggestions.

    @aashiq1001

    Go to Enercon on Kashmir road for complete engine and CNG tuning.

    Try BPR6E-11 from NGK or BKR6E-11 series.

    yup, rite... it was just to give him clarity for smooth open reving...

    btw carby engines have no ecu, means no fuel cut, so they can cross red-line!!

    ANY manual transmission engine can be destroyed by over-revving, both ECU or carb.

    Just downshift into first or second at highway speed and let go of the clutch. In spite of a fuel cutoff, the mechanical link with over-rev the engine to the point of destruction.

    To prevent this, a special type of clutch called a Sprag Clutch can be used, usually in racing cars.

    addition: crossing red-line will be destructive for engine!

    check the timing belt alignment - and valve clearances - then make double sure that the centrifugal advance mechanism in your distributor is not jammed and the vacuum advance canister is not leaking vacuum - you may also want to check the vacuum hoses to the carb..

    e.g. the powervalve, dashpot and secondary throttle being the most important

    A Sprag clutch (aka Slipper or Overrun clutch) is a special one way clutch that locks when rotated in one direction but slips at a set percentage in the other direction only.

    I don't know about it's availability for the cars in Pakistan.

    More information can be found here:

    Sprag clutch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Slipper clutch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Free-Wheel Clutches - Sprag Clutch Technology - GMN Bearings

    Formsprag - overrunning clutches, sprag clutches and backstops for industrial applications

    Thank you for the kind comments BTW.

    Sir

    Stick to NGK BKR series, they are genuine, there are lots of fakes in the market.

    For plugs visit Plaza, get a quote from Fairsale Autos at plaza, they have a good stock of plugs.

    You can ask anyone at Kashmir road and they will guide you.

    Honda 2s Saqib Autos is at kala board Malir near Nehal Hospital.

    959 and jz what about used plugs from Godra market or Shershah kabari market :??? some of my friend told me about it,though its time taking to find same code plugs,i bought on saturday two sets of bosch orignal plugs,1 was 2 pin the other single pin,dont know why cars missing on both,less on 2 pins and more on single pin...!

    well yar my car has 4 pin Bosch Super Plugs,the problem i am having is that when car is at rest the RPM does'nt follow the Accelarator padel suddenly,when i push the padel suddenly hard so i feel that somehwere air is stucking and maximum now RPM reaches at 4.5x1000 RPM...not ahead of it,though engine is soundless and water coming out of silencer :=)(the local sign's of best engine)...and being inside car i am feeling that engine is'nt performing 100% its looking 65-70% to me,i want to know except plugs what else should i do to make the car's engine work atleast 95-99% if not 100%....
    and i noticed also that Plugs does increase accelration little but not much,where as i had new 4 bin bosch super plugs already install in it,i am personally feeling that its not the plugs problem its seem to me The Air somere where stucking and coming out very very slow,RPM not following the accelerator,and at full push, maximum RPM as i mentioned above is 4.5x1000 RPM...on petrol its 6 and on CNG its 4.5...also 4.5 but very slow to reach 4.5 so as same on petrol but little just a little quicker than CNG
