its all bling brother..actually it will affect your car's suspension and your fuel average and ride comfort, it is advisable to use the OEM size of the wheels and tyres rather than putting in heavy big bling and tyres..the rest is upto you!

I don't think 16's will really cause any issues.
Just pair it up with some good tires though. Your ride stiffness will increase a little bit.

I've got 16" in my 2k Civic. It'll be fine just make sure the tire profile is 50 and that you get some soft tires.. You'll notice a slight difference in fuel economy, that's about it.

    Sir

16" are oversize, specially for Pakistani roads, 15" are fine.

16-17 rims is a big no no for 96-00 civics

rear suspension of civic is suspended on 32 rubber bush parts. CNG cylinder does enough damage to make them last short. bigger wheels will make them last even shorter
i can go on and on. i have bills for front and rear suspension works not pleasant
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Dont get 16'' rims. They will destroy your suspension and it will affect your cars fuel consumption.
Even 17'' would work perfectly but only if the car is being run on smooth streets. You know the condition of Karachi's roads and if you want, the maximum size you should get is 15''. I have the same ones and they have caused no problems at all

You should see the one I'm getting, 99 facelift model with 17's.
But you need a racing suspension too.
