Thread: Engine RPM problem in my civic 96

    Default Engine RPM problem in my civic 96

    Yesterday night, I cleaned the air intake Venturi with petrol and installed it back. From yesterday onward, my civic 96 starts at 1500 RPM. I dont know what happened. I only cleaned the venturi, nothing did more.. CIVIC expert plz help me.

    well it would happen for a while as there has been some residue left in sensors will be normal.Next time uSe NASA or some other carb spray using petrol is dangerous can inflame anytime.

    yar my civic also starts @ 1,300 rpm when its temp is C

    Its just a sensor problem nothing else....this happens some times...if it doesnt fluctuate then u can adjust the air pressure. And as Wasay tld use a carb cleaner rather than petrol.

    Its the Auto Choke....Like u hav to pull the choke in carby motors to start the car...In efi cars its the Auto Choke which raise he RPM for sometime and as soon as engine is warm the RPM become normal.
