Replace the engine. Buy low mileage engine.

Get a 1996-2000 vti engine. Overhauling will cost you more in the long run.

    Hi Supremo,

Replace the Engine with D15B Dual VTEC. Its good at performance and economy both. But you have to change the Fuel Tank, Radiator and exhaust with the engine to have max efficiency. It will last too long rather then overhauling.

Dont know the price range in karachi if you are in there but in peshawar and pindi, the price of such engines is around 60K.

Yes D15b will b a wise decision but there is no need to change the radiator, fuel tank and exhaust unless u wanna modify ur ride for racing...still the radiator and fuel tank will work fine. What u got to do is cut the fuel tank to place an intank fuel pump.

i ve heard that this alteration of fuel tank wud cause problems, garcia@pw experienced fuel cut (lack of fuel supply) due to this, finally, he had to buy a new efi version fuel tank... but yes if one isnt into racing, i think its okay for normal use.

agreed but its recommended to get a new radiator while swap.. its better to account the risk of any over-heating (if old one is perfect then no need to change)

for exhaust & headers, there is no outlet for O2 sensor in 4-1-1 header that comes with carb engine... , so 4-2-1 headers will also be required

    Hi Dears,

I have suggested him to change the radiator as it seems to me his car radiator is not in a good condition and obviously with the passage of time it life ends. So if it is not in a good condition, i recommend to replace it.

Fuel Tank must be replaced in case of an EFI engine, because a fuel pump is required which is already fitted in the tank i recommend. You can alter your current fuel tank as well but the appropriate way is to change it. However there is a place for this fuel pump on the top side of the tank under the rear seat. you can just cut it and put a fuel pump in it.

Well the Exhaust pipe is necessary to get the optimum performance out of this engine. Put exhaust pipe with 2inch dia.

Also do not forget you need the right ECU for the engine to run smooth. So look for an engine with complete harness and ECU.

With all this you will get max performance and economy of 13 to 14 km/l within the city.

If you want to go for an engine from civic 04 or 05, i think it will drop in without any alteration, but D15B Dual VTEC is the right choice if you find one with low millage.

    @ V8:

The O2 sensor your are on about is already in the header of the engine, so the orignal header which comes with the engine have it. 4-1-1 will be ok.

However there is a secondary O2 sensor as well in some models but you can skip that without any engine check light.

^ yes, there is no check light issue in that... I used d15b vtec for couple of weeks with 4-1-1 and it was ok but its better to get 4-2-1 if one is putting d15b vtec... and normally it comes along with the engine (no need to pay extra bucks)

Headers will come with the new engine....n yes fuel tank is not a prob as i am running the same engine in my 95 and have stage 1 mods running in before swap radiator and fuel tank. n yes fuel pump must be changed as intank will b needed.

If ur previous engine is carby then it must not b having o2 sensor. Normally the stock headers come with D15b are 4-2-1.
