Default 8th gen civic pros petrol consumption

well i ve purchased a civic 1.8 prosmatec a couple of mnths back..
Well the problem iz that it is a fuel guzzzler...it does 6km per liter in city driving with ac n max 7km per liter without ac which is definitely on a higher side...
the 2.4 liter accords n 2.5 liter mark x 's also give almost same average as claimed by their owners...
i went to honda dealership n they said that this is ok with 8th gen civics but i waz like....
they connected the diagnostic tool to my car's obd port n said that everythin is running fine....
    but i m not satisfied..
so i wud like to inquire from pw'ers that what is the average per liter they r getting from their 8th gen civics...especially members 4m lahore...

My 1.8 Pros gives me 8 WITH AC and 9/10 without AC if i drive with light paddle.

On highway it does 14-16 with AC.

Well i depends how you drive, 6 to 7 with in city is reasonable if you drive fast and idling with ac.

thats the best you going to get with joy full driving. light foot driving is a pain some times

considering 9km/liter in city driving with a light foot, ur car is doing ok (7km/l) if you press it moderately hard!

As @SOHC said tires should be stock, along with all the other things plugs, filters, oils& tire pressures

always stay to 100% stock components to get max average...

ive never really calculated the average, but try driving it under 3000 revs..i used to drive mine in low gears with revs upto 5000 in city, it used to suck the sh*t out of my pockets..but ever since ive started driving it with a light foot, im happy..its a little more economic relatively!

which method you are using to check average?????

    try the below mention method:

I still use the old ""wagon driver method, shaking & taping the car while filling the tank fully""" to check average of my steermatic.

fill up the tank slowly & fully up to the neck, bring the meter to zero, drive it for couple of hundred KM's & than come back to same fuel pump & same guy repeat the same """old wagon driver """ method & than divide the mileage by liters.....& here you go with the exact average of your car.

we have purchased reborn recently.its simple vti.average is quiet co0l n impressive.on l0nger runs it gives almost 18 and in city i get 13-14 easily.i dont drive with ac on all time, just turn it on when required.and when i need braking or before stops i utilise engine1s power to drive ac.
we used t0 have sity i-vtec before this, approximately this and city`s performance is same.
appraximately dosent always means 19-20 ka farak.the farak can be 18.5-20.5
and one thing more,u opted for aut0 m0del.aut0s have this high comsumpti0n thing in them.thats i i s0ld my city.everything has its price.

well sir keep one thing in mind/civic 1.8 pros is much more economical than previous pros vehicles as it is 5 speed pros/this car reaches only 2 rpm on 120 km speed /it should give u 15 km/l on highways if u drive around 100km/h speed/dont push accelerator abruptly/this is the key

hmm thats sad to hear, and the mechanics here are not top quality or well read, so most of the times they dont know whats going on..neway i hope your problem is resolved, if they are saying that its perfectly normal and they cant do anything to cure your query then you should just let it go, try maintaining the oem specs of the car as suggested by a member above, keep the tyre pressure to 30psi both, clean the air filter regularly and drive safe sir!

The average I get with VERY CAREFUL driving is 8.5km/ltr and yes this is with Hi-Octane!

No matter what else you do, you can not get any better mileage
