    Unhappy 95 civic swap

    Hi guyes i wana swap my original carby engine coz my engine loses all his power and now become old. m bit cunfused in this matter i need lil help here from u guys, hope u do.

    1- i heard alot about d15b3 and i always wana know that what is difference b/w single vtec n dual v tec. Is it is easy to find here in lahore ?what will b the cost of that without gear box,ecu,fuel injector, airfilter boxes etc.

    2- many machanics recommended me the engine of 03 -04 civic which is d15y3 rite? whats the cost of that engine in lahore??? with everything comlplete.and does it take any alternation??

    3- last thiing is which engine is called (CF honda) any idea?

    CF in market is referred to Civic 2001-2005.

    2001-2003 : CF1
    2003-2005 : CF2

    The kabali engines available in the market are either Japanese or American (atleast that's what's told). Make sure you go for a japanese one because they're usually lesser driven.

    If you buy a v-tec engine, make sure it comes with a compatible ECU. Otherwise at specific RPMs, the v-tec solenoid will demand command from the ECU, and when it doesn't get it, it'll start to cut off. There's no fun of a honda engine cutting off at 5000 rpm.

    About the engine specs, there are some really knowledgeable people here..lets wait for them to reply.

    d15b dual vtech costs around 30-33k here in rawalpindi. and its good

    1: D15B3 is the stock craby engine in 95 Civic. The one you've heard about is D15B.
    I'll explain the difference between single and three stage VTEC later.
    It is easily available everywhere.
    You can get the head-assembly for 25Kish. But to switch from craby to vtec you'll need the wiring + dizzy, complete intake manifold with throttle body and injectors... the lot. Its better to buy a complete engine setup.

    2: The 03-04 Vti one is D16W9. That is a 3-Stage Vtec motor. I don't think that particular engine is available in kabar market. And yes you'll need to alter a lot really for no benefit at all. Better to go for D15 that is cheaper, more powerful and bolt on.

    3: 7th gen civic is called CF here.

    Can you spot the VTEC solenoid on your engine? Its a small cylinder like structure bolted right behind the engine head. (Just google for the pic) All vtec motors have one, 3-stage vtec motors have two of them.

    3: I'm afraid thats not the case. Its not the tranny alone, its the engine aswell that needs the right ECU. Though they can make it work 'just fine' with your setup but for the perfect job you'll need an ECU to match with the head code. For example if you're going for the 3-stage motor (which you must) you'll need P2J coded ECU. Now all the P2J ECUs, with the exception of P2J-003 and P2J-J11 (but you won't be buying J11 coz thats OBD-2B) were for CVT (autos ofcourse) so they'll work fine. Most probably you'll find a P2J-J62 OBD-2 ECU plug to plug with your wiring.

    o i understand now.u suggest d15b-3 stage vtec riite? i dont wana modified the engine i wana buy complete setup u can say plug n play

    ap ki car mein jo abhi gearbox laga hai wohi ap ki d15b ko lag jaye ga. so 50 mein say 12 13 less ker lo baki sara setup lena hoga. btw engine compressor agar app wala acha hai ya naya hai tuh woh bhi nah change karo woh bhi lag jaye ga

    yar ik bat r chalo ma D15b3 vtec ka servay karu ga yahn bilal gunj ma but ik bat k yar engine ko check kasy karty ha uss tra to her chez petrol sa dho k saf ke hoti ha ap kasa jugde karty ho engine ke condition?
