the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

I have personally bought and driven 7 different Prosmatec 1.8 Civics since 2006. This doesn't include relatives experiences. One car was 130000 before i sold it and not even once any single car had such an issue. The key was and is getting transmission oil changed every 40000 kilometres. If it isn't followed then yes the transmission does give problems

When driving, when the car shifts from 1st-2nd OR 2nd-3rd at low rpm (may not be as noticable during sudden acceleration or aggressive pick) there is a slight rpm being stuck sort of a feeling giving a minor delay in shifting and rpm coming down, feels like rpm stuck or engine missing. Normally rpm should come down suddenly without delay with a slight jerk or shift is abrupt without a delay.

Is the Total Oil that is available at Caltex pumps (soon to become Total Pumps also) any good for reborn?
What is the Best viscosity to use?
Does anyone in ISB have any experience with this Auto Point workshop in I-10?

    I think Honda's recommended is 5w-30 synthetic for R18

Guys i Have a 08' Ivtec Prosmatic and facing an issue with the power steering pump due to leakage. Now I was thinking of getting the complete EPS (Steering Assembly,Electronic Motor,Torque and Speed Sensor,Wiring and its separate ECU) of a hybrid from a half cut and installing that. Has anyone tried this before? Expert help is required.

Though i am no expert but still would like to share my opinion:
A lot of cars till 2008 had an issue with faulty power steering pipe. The pipe used to get damaged leaking ps oil and unobserved low ps levels cause the pump to go bust. Honda even started replacing the ps pipe free of cost for cars upto 2008 model. Don't know if Honda still has that offer valid
About the eps from another car I don't think that would be possible because the computerised programming of a car with eps is usually different for a car with hydraulic steering. It's not just plug n play scenario. You may ruin a few more electricals trying to do so and still not be able to achieve this thought

I wasn't talking about an eps from another car. I was talking about one from the same model since internationally the 8th gen had eps. The 8th gen hybrids running here also have eps. And no Honda doesn't entertain the power steering pump failure free of cost anymore.

    Default Civic Hybrid Engine Bay....

This is my Civic Hybrid's engine bay. I recently did a full detailing session of it.
I vacuumed away all the dust, cleaned it with a car shampoo and water solution, used Turtle Wax plastic protector and shine. The bay was already very clean so it didn't require much effort.

I'm gonna clay bar the whole car tomorrow.

Technically the 8th gen hybrid is totally another car. Just physical resemblance is there with PKDM Reborn. Obviously a 1.3 with IMA programmed ecu (Hybrid 8th Gen) has a different mechanism compared to a 1.8
