Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

If you are looking for mount or power steering pipe replacement, then i have bad news for you. They are not replacing free anymore. For other work, its a good place.

Had some maintenance done on my 2007 Civic hybrid MXST. Changed the engine oil, oil filter, new dry battery and new air-filter. All parts and maintenance are always done from Honda Pakistan so car is error-free. I always have the car hooked up to Honda's DTC scanner (after every oil change) and like always no errors, not even a single DTC till today! Engine oil is changed between 2500KMs and 3000KMs and oil filter is changed between 5500KMs and 6000KMs.
According to them, this is the best maintained Civic hybrid that they have serviced till date (Honda Center Peshawar Road). Even the hybrid battery is almost like brand new.
Who says hybrids are unreliable? Only timely maintenance is what a hybrid needs to be in good nick.
    Some pictures of the scanner.....

DTC is Diagnostic Trouble Code or error code in simpler terms. The dash indicates that the function is currently in use so is trouble free (you need to put the key into ignition and turn it till its at point number, immobilizer will only give an error when car won't start or engine won't crank etc). The dash plus arrow indicates that the function is not listed within the car's ECU (Honda's don't come with many sensors like Mercs and Bimmers). Zero means that the car has no fault at all and is 100% functional. This can also be used to check if the airbags are in working order or not or have been previously deployed in which case it will give an error. If airbags are missing (mostly in accidental cars), the scanner will give a permanent error. In my case, the airbags and other things are A-okay including the VSA module Pretty good for a car with around 90,000KMs

Got the key case from aliexpress.com. Must b available locally but did not know from where. Read a Diy on a forum, will share the link. Sacrificed a spare key to get the immobilizer chip from it. Opened my existing remote key and took out the buttons machinery and put the immobilizer and button machinery in the flip key case. Also got the flip key cut from Honda and all set.

My 2007 Civic hybrid's fuel average without using cruise control. Highest I've gotten so far is 3.3L per 100KMs.

I sometimes hear a krrr sound from the front right wheel when I apply brake while driving slow like driving in street slowing down for a turn etc. I took it workshop and they just cleaned the brake pad but it didn't help. They have no idea what it is.

I don't hear the sound all the time so it's hard to reproduce it when I have the mechanic sitting with me.

Also, is it wise to leave the car overnight with detailers or denter painters. I have no experience with them in Pakistan so far so just wondering if it's safe.

If sound is heard only on bumps or uneven tracks, it could be mostly due to two reasons:

Play in steering rackends (steering must have a bit play too)

Control arm bushing gone bad - new ones will be pressed in and will be good to go.

Both these jobs will not take more than 2 hours. Make sure you buy parts brand new japanese and give them to mechanic so that you are sure of what you are putting in. Mechanics will always try their best to make you buy their retarded used stuff for a bit cheaper but it usually always fail in a short span of time.

I only hear the sound when brake is applied gently and not all the way through. It sounds like when you apply brakes hard in wet condition and the abs comes on. It's a clicking sound like the ABS makes.
